*SY #1* How much is it worth?

I know, i know.....i know how much its worth. (only what someone will pay) but id like to get some other opinions on this truck. Im on the fence about getting it and would like peoples opinions on .net.

The sy has 102,000 miles. Its been sitting for a very long time. Everything mechanical is original. Bedside was replaced and rear roll pan, arch and corner, was replaced due to a fender bender.

Has a few dings and dents, scratches here and there. Hardly has any rust besides some surface on the frame.

It does run and drive fine.

The truck is a 2nd owner.

Here are some pics...let me know how much you think!

I'll take a guess.
$6500 - $8000

Looks like the rear springs are altered. Leaf taken out? Or ??? maybe I am not seeing it correct?

Does it run great?

How much are they asking for it?

Re: How much is this syclone worth?

I'd say if its good mechanicaly and the body is in good condidtion 6-7k, if one or the other is in bad shape 4500-5k.

Re: How much is this syclone worth?

by looking at the pics, i wouldn't think that the mileage was that high.Looks like it was taken care of. I
d say around 6k for it.

Some simple datalogs showing how the motor/tranny operates will help determine if its a 6k or 8k truck . High miles coupled with needing body and paint work doesnt help value either .

Maybe mandi will have 2 sys now ?

Meh, it's black, just like almost all the others. Tell him you've already got a few nice ones, just looking for a parts truck. just kidding. Nice looking, though.

Re: *TWIST* How much is this syclone worth?

Hypothetically, How much would this sy be worth if it was 1991 sy number one "as in vin number 0001".

Does it make it more valuable? I have my opinion but im curious about others.

To some people that may make it worth a little more. Maybe an additional $500 or $1000 in this market. Condition is still the most important part. I have a lower number Typhoon and I bought it at a lower than average price.

It would be worth it if you were planning on cleaning it up to 100% stock. That being the case, I think 5-6K is not out of the question, although you will likely have quite a bit more into it when its all said and done...

Re: *TWIST* How much is this syclone worth?

i'd consider paying $6k for it right now.. a few years ago $8k..

as for the build number, it is going to be hard to prove it, but it might give a little bit more to the value, but only to those that really care about it.. so i'd say $8k..

Straight answer...No. Its like saying you have a bigger dick then the rest of us, but its still a dick and does the same job.

But none the less to avid collector to make them feel like there dick is bigger then the average joe's having sy #0001 would make it more valuable to them. But I'm assuming by the time I've spent getting to know you and the rest of the forum that we are all average joe's with small penis' and must not conform to the rest of the car collectors that go around boasting about "OMG, my car is sooooooooooooo much cooler & valuable because it was the first one built" (ty's were non-sequence built correct?).

Granted if it is the first one its still a black on black Syclone like the other 2000 built just like it. If it is like the last Typhoon that has complete documentation and unfathomable value imposed on it by GM & PAS then it would be worth more in my eyes.

Where ever the market is on a 102k mile truck is right now is the price you're gonna pay. But I feel like you already know all this since you have a haven of abused syclones and typhoons. As a buyer looking for a well-maintained syclone in stock configuration with that amount of miles I would pay no more then 8k but I'm also looking for a deal so I'd start at 6k and work up from there. But that is just me because I've haven't been on this forum for very long, nor am I as knowledgeable as some of the other guru's among this site. This is only my interpretation of what I've seen sell at what price and condition.

I wish you the best and hope this post wasn't at pointless and one might think by reading the first few lines.
