This thread is gonna go back and forth and it will just really be a big cluster **** of information that will to translate into "should I buy syclone vin #0001?" regarding the information I have in front of me.
Many of us know Harmon has a collection of sytys in the double digits, so what is ONE more? Some are incredibly nice and are in great working order, while other are on life support.He does not fit of some collectors like customrestore that only buys low-mileage, rare, and otherwise great condition syclones. Also it is not that Harmon is financially incapable of obtaining this syclone. This is all an assumption and just what I have noticed throughout my time here at .net

Your wrong on some of it. This isn't the thread to correct it though. He Asked about a trucks value, not for us to debate his financial situation. I say if he wants it buy it, more power to him. If he passes there are plenty of supporting reasons justifying his decision. No matter what his decision, the majority of the board supports him. It seems pretty clear what .net's members think the value is, which is what he asked. Now it is up to him, if he chooses to use the information he has asked for, for his benefit.

Lol, this thread has gotten a little off track. Yes, i am blessed to make a decent living. Yes, after i sold one ty after owning it for a week to a person who became a board member. It was a HUGE mistake and i have taken a vow to NEVER sell one again. I enjoy syty's as a hobby and so does my family. We enjoy doing this together. Plus all the cool events we go to and meet alot of awsome people (These people are very humbling and put there pants on the same way i do, one leg at a time)! And some not so awesome people come along and are very negative (these people need to stick to soap opera's or get a job).
These trucks are a part of my family. My two sons are learning alot with these trucks from patients to mechanical knowledge to improvising. Im hoping when they get my age they can pass the knowledge of these trucks along with being extremely passionate about doing there job or there hobby as they have learned so far with these trucks.
Syclone number 1 would be awesome to own. It is a bragging piece! But yet to this day i have not bragged about any of my trucks. So i dont know if its for me.
The re-sell on it in the distant future 100% restored could be beneficial. But i have no interest in selling them, nor do i ever want to. Maybe ill have to in the far future but i dont want to do it.
I envy davep's passion towards original untouched or 100% restored oem vehicles. I hope to do this one day with a syty that is WORTH it. Right now restoring a average basketcase syty to original oem specs is kind of pointless in a value sense. But thats why i keep and store alot of oem parts i come across and learn about there date codes and these small quirks of a stock truck. Everything from how it was painted on the assembly line for the stock looking overspray and unpainted parts to the original nut and bolts and parts tags. I have seen pics of davep's syclone restore and it is absolutely beautiful.
I think this truck could be a perfect candidate for a for a syty restore.
The truck does need a comb over to make sure everything is number matching before purchase.
But as morgan mentioned before, it is high milage for a syclone right now. Who is to say a 100,000 mile syclone number 1 in fifty years could be worth a yenko....There is no-way to tell.
Everything is off of speculation of future prices. Im looking at todays prices to purchase it. Then i will have fun putting the truck back together piece by piece back to originality. A very time consuming process as davep stated before.
But with all the awsome people on .net and the wealth of knowledge on here this rebuild could be possible.
Right now the trend is to make fast trucks. There is a point of building fast trucks that .net knowledge is no longer needed and it becomes entertainment. Thats why the big guns room was created. I would love to see a trend of syty's being restored to oem specs. That would make a great sub-forum!.....But just like the tech forum, alot of the people who answer the questions on there get shafted and never receive a thank you for the contributions of helping in a huge way. I can see people doing the same thing in a restore sub forum.

Thank you to all the people who gave there opinion on value of this truck. It changed my perspective on a few things and also added some knowledge to my syty data base.

Only thing it's got going is the VIN.
And nobody cares.It's a V6 Sonoma with ground effect,that has been hit,beat,AND driven by a woman.
It's also almost a 20 yrs old Sonoma.With ground effects..
Oh and hey,you see #2200 93 Ty (The LAST Typhoon) 113ish mile that sold at BJ (on a scrap title) for 52k?
Now available for 35k OBO.

Things are worth a lot more money to a person if they really want it. It does not matter if it is not worth that much to someone else.
Some things we buy to make us or or family happy. Not to make a profit.
Just decide on what you are willing to pay to own it and feel good about it.
Its like going somewere on vacation. It can cost a lot of money. You don't make money on it. But it is something that we really enjoy and remember for a lifetime.
