Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Here is a list of where I got the bulbs and which ones to get.

- (8) 194 based 15-LED bulbs for Gauges (Recommend to get 10, just incase you break a bulb or something). I got them on Ebay.

- (7) T1.5-W bulbs for the Check Engines Got them from superbrightleds
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=/specs/74_t15.htm

- (2) #74 based bulb for HVAC controls
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/10x-...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Tips: If I would do it again, I would get new sockets for the Gauges because the stock bulb/socket are a 1-piece design, so you basically have to break the bulb to get it out. They sell the twist-lock sockets at Autozone. Be sure to check each bulb before you fully install the cluster, because the bulbs are polarized. Also the Dimmer switch still works.

Hope this helps, this is a great alternative instead of Indiglo gauges.

Just getting round to doing this. Do you know if the gauge sockets from Autozone are 3/8 or the 1/2 variety?

The bulbs for the HVAC I got from Hong Kong were junk - the terminals are far too short.

I was amazed at how much the T15 bulbs were - hence the delay!

Looks good - thanks for the part numbers.

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

I installed my PLX Wideband a while back, but didn't take a pic of the install. I don't drive the Ty in the rain and I have a Rear window without a Wiper so the gauge fit nicely. I actually got the panel out of a S10 so the gauge would fit snug without any gaps.

It's like I'm in an airplane with all these gauges lol.

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Will soon be installing my Brand new PTE-63 Turbo. I will be Polishing the front and getting the exhaust housing Ceramic coated Black. The stock turbo got me to my goal of 12.9 this summer and now it's time to move on.

I'm going to be taking my Exhaust manifolds off to port match them also. I still have an RPM DP, RPM external WG to get. I will be doing other mods this winter as well, so keep checking in.

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

I ported my Exhaust Manifolds mainly because when I had them off last year to get Ceramic Coated, I forgot about porting them. Since I just got a PTE-63 Turbo, I saw pictures of what Nolan did to his Manifolds and thought it was a good idea. I focused mainly on the Turbo Flange of the Manifold to somewhat match the PTE Turbo.

Next is Bellmouthing the Outlet on the PTE63. I still have the Drivers Manifold to do also.

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Truck is looking great. Do you remember how much you paid to get your manifolds coated? I am looking to have mine done as well.

I don't remember how much I got them coated for. I usually get a better price because I'm close friends with the guy.

Here is a before and after of Bellmouthing the Outlet on the PTE63. I did the same thing on my Stock turbo and wanted to do it on the PTE while I had it off. Every little bit helps right.:turbo:

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Here is an update. I sanded the Compressor housing with a flapper wheel on a drill which was 80-150 grit. I then wetsanded from 320-1500. Going to be polishing it soon.

Finally finished Polishing my Turbo. Next is taking the Exhaust housing off to get Ceramic Coated black. I also painted the center section with some 2000* header paint.

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Finally got my Turbo back together after getting it Ceramic coated. Now I'm waiting on my RPM Dp to ship out so I can get that Ceramic coated also. I also have to make an Up pipe for the IC.

It looks so sick in person. Definetely can tell the size difference compared to the stock turbo.Still have to bend the AC line out of the way and I also have a black turbo blanket for the exhaust side I'll be installing

That engine bay is so clean.....a lot of love went into that. Once you start with the shiny stuff its kind of hard to stop.
