The Gray sockets are the factory ones. I would recommend that you get new sockets from Autozone being that it would be 10x easier. The factory bulb/socket are a 1-piece configuration. You basically have to break the bulb to get it out.

Remember, once you get the LEDs, you have to test each bulb because they are Polarized. It might not work, so you have to turn the bulb around.

Hope this helps,

Yep, this helps a ton! I'll have to hit the local Autozone to get those and order the bulbs. Thanks again!

Finished the Pass side front LS1 swap. I used Renz's Front adaptor kit and it is very well engineered. The big brakes definetly fill out the wheel alot more.

Did you pay $10 for each 15 led bulb or find a better deal? Do you think 10 led bulbs would be sufficent, I found some of those for $2.

I've been wanting to install LEDs in my Gauge Cluster for a long time being that I had a couple bulbs blown. While I was in there, I replaced the 8 Gauge bulbs with 15-LEDs and the Check engines with a single LED bulb. I chose the 15-LED bulb because alot of people complain that LEDs arent that bright, so I wanted to make sure it was plenty bright. It looks great without any hot spots. I also replaced the 2 HVAC bulbs with a single LED to match.

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

I found 15-LED bulbs on Ebay for about $2-4 each. I would just get 15-LED's being that aasltmike and I both got them and really like it. They have 3 LEDs facing outward and the rest in a 360*.

Hope this helps

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Just a heads-up...I had to order my 194-based 15 LED bulbs from Amazon. The vendor on ebay that I found through Krupa's link had to cancel my order because he was out of stock. This was a couple of weeks ago, so he may have them in stock now.

Finished replacing my Remote Oil lines. The lines from the radiator and engine block were both leaking. I got the lines out in about half hour. The one to the engine block, I snaked it out from the top. It wasn't as bad as I read it was. I also replaced the gasket and o-ring for the adaptor on the engine block being that it was leaking also. Of course I polished the new lines to match the engine bay.

Also coated my Rear LS1 mounting plates with POR-15. Should be starting the rear brake conversion very soon.

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Finished up my Rear LS1 brake conversion. Overall, it was an easy job to do. I decided to get new hard lines for over the axle being that I wanted them to be shorter than original and it would fit perfect with my Braided lines from the Calipers. I ordered some Braided lines for the Caliper to Hard line from KORE3.

The only hard part was the pinion lock bolt in the Diff. That sucker was really tight in their and ended up getting a socket with a breaker bar on it. Also used a little pipe to help break it loose. I ordered a new bolt from RockAuto being that the original got rounded out.

I gota say, the LS1 F+R brakes really change the look of the truck. The stopping power now is amazing. I have to bleed the brakes again, but it still feels real good. This, coupled with Hoods ABS Delete really changed the feel of the truck. During my Datamaster runs last year, stopping the truck was like stopping a train. It felt unsafe, and now I feel comfortable doing some runs this summer.

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Put my ATR Muffler back on. Straight exhaust was just to loud and I wanted it a little quieter. Also did the EGR Delete. Alot more room for Fuel Pressure adjustment and wire changes. Waiting for my chip from Hood; was reprogramed for a 3bar map sensor.
