the silicone couplers flex

no sh*t sherlock.. i'm just thinking they might not flex enough.. although with solid mounts and a reinforced frame i guess the motor won't rock that bad.

Yep motor wont move much and the rubber on ends moves more than you think.

Re: Project Never Ends

New throttle cable is in, redid the vacuum line to FPR in -04 braided, changed out a make shift vacuum block for a real one (until I get cruise installed).

The other radiator fan showed up, so working on mounting it then time to wire them. Add some mufflers and it should be drivable enough cops won't have big desires to stop and chat.

Still a ton of little things to work out, but one at a time and it will be more than ready in spring.

With all the fast trucks that are going to be there, the locals really aren't going to know what hit them ;)

Jeff, the truck is looking great!

Re: Project Never Ends

Put mufflers on last night and started it up. WOW. Much different, sounds good but I don't think it will ever be mistaken as being stock though. I can hear the valvetrain now and the electric fans and that was with it running inside the garage. I am sure once outside it will get even quieter.

Going to take it up to exhaust guy though soon to fix a few things, after everything moved a few clearance issues I want to take care of and rather than me on my back trying to fix it I will let him do it. He owes me a favor anyways.

Track here opens this weekend, so I guess that is my cue to finish it. Of course there is more salt on the roads than the salt flats right now so going to wait for a few good rains to wash that off.

We are going to need another vid now that the mufflers are on it.

Re: Project Never Ends

Hopefully some good video of tuning next, then maybe even some track time. Waiting on weather to clear up.

Re: Project Never Ends

Tracks open here this weekend also. But I won't be there, will wait for better roads and of course I need to tune it first.

It does go back to exhaust shop next week for final tweaking of exhaust. Then should be game to make things happen and drive it.

Re: Project Never Ends

Indiana still puts salt on the roads? I believe TN uses something else. Calcium, maybe? Turns your car white. AL doesn't put anything on the roads. 1/10th of snow causes the entire state to shut down.

Re: Project Never Ends

I don't care if it is salt, calcium or dried up cow pee. Don't need it on my truck.
