Quick question....did they check and make sure you guys were stock? Could we have stuck a fairly modded truck without these people noticing?

No, they did not check. In theory, one could have had a number a mods that would have gone undetected. (sure would've helped me  ) Weight dumping was allowed, though no one was really in the pit area checking anything.

Nobody checked anything.
The Sy/Ty's had the hoods up for all to see, so did some others. Aside from certain cars not sounding normal I don't think anyone was really scamming.
Keller unloaded his spare and removed the airfilter and nobody cared. I ran with a full tank of gas and some octane booster and we all iced down the intakes between runs but thats the extent of it.

Good representing the Syty community...those were good numbers for a very humid wet day and...would be better on a cool fall day with no humidity.... I can't wait to see the write-up..

Just got back home myself.

Joe should be home in 1.5 hrs from now. LOL

In next day or two I will get the pics up Joe and Christina took.

1600 miles round trip. No big events, although 1 lady in seaside heights is still shaking her head at us I am sure.

Wasn't that big of deal, basically we headed to Seaside Heights after the event to say we went to beach. Just outside, before crossing bridge light turned red, had to stop rather quickly in damp pavement, towing Christina's typhoon. Brakes locked up on truck, as we skid to a stop at light, as Joe is in the passenger side nose against windshield, smiling, and waving at lady in the car worried we couldn't stop in time.

Of course the better story from the trip I think is arriving at Smaug's house. We had preped my 5 yr old daughter for 200 miles before hand on what his real name was.

Of course, she still calls him XXXXX and has no clue the name his mom gave him.

Parents are evil. Hopefully someone got her saying it on video, as it will make a good clip to post.

If you hadn't left at 1:30 pm to go home and sit on your arse we could have arranged it.

Our plans were changing by the minute, especially with Joe Navigating. GPS is nice, but still only as good as the Navigator. :rotf:

Well....We made it home about 12:30 am and I was soooo glad to be home! NJ is a looong freakin way away! We wouldve never made it back without my expert navigating skills. I wanted to publicly thank Jeff Scott for towing me about 2000 miles. Also i wanted to thank Eric for letting us stay at his house. The SyTy community is awesome. The other people were looking at us all funny because we already knew each other.

As far as the event....Our Ty ran "ok". It was 4-6 mph slower than it was at the Nats. I was really wanting to run a 13.6 but it was still good. Chris's Ty picked up my slack. That 13.4 was awesome!!!! We all had a great time and I cant wait to see the pics in the magazine!
Chris...That run was great! I told you that SyTy's like when you are rough on them! Oh yeah....thanks for the gloves.
Steve...I know you wanted to run better times but you did good for your first time ever. You need to go get some more practice and youll be driving like Chris.

Most of the vette guys seemed very unfamiliar tracking their cars except for the Z06 who just put balls to the wall and punched it. We were posting better numbers than the Calloway and ZR1 all day (go figure). And a few others you could tell didn't want to get into it.Theres lots of pics to come...

The Zr-1 are difficult to launch, they either bog or spin. My best friend has a stock 90 with a best of 12.9@113mph, It took him 5 times at the track to run those times. He only has a few 12.9-low 13 sec @110mph plus time slips, but he has tons of 13.5-13.7@106. The Callaway TT's usually have lots of traction problem with rearwheel drive and around 550ft-lb of torque.

Did the TTA's and GNX have any runs?

GNX ran a 13.32 (from memory)

can't remember what TTA ran. Guy actually had 2 cars there, 1 was cloth interior. :D

The vettes were having problems. I dont think either car/driver had ever made a pass before.
The GNX ran 13.3's...that was CRAZY fast in 1987!!!!! The TTA's were running 13.7's - 13.9's. I dont remember thier best times.
