My plan is to stuff the radiator and e-fan as far into the core support as possible.

Jegs/summit have the aluminum race radiators that fit inside the core support perfect. Not as wide as the stock radiator, but realy affordable. Run one of the upper hose cap adapter for ease of access for filling the radiator.

Griffin 3 core pro series radiator 269.95 will fit inside core support with little trimming for the radiator cap unseen from the topside. I wanted to go this way but couldnt because thats where my 3.5" IC is mounted. I am running the same radiator though.

I used aluminum 4" C channel to make a radiator support with universal poly mounts, turned out very well. If you have access to weld aluminum then making a couple brackets on the end tanks would be more suitable.

All that room that we have for a v6 is going away with his v8. I personally don't think a 3" exhaust crossover is going to get through unless the radiator is goin in the bed and core support is gets trimmed up..

wouldn't it be pretty tough to put the radiator "in the bed" of a typhoon? :lol:

You'd need some pretty hefty fans to make up for no air flow

I have been taking measurements of my truck/engine bay to help Alex get dimensions that work. We are fairly sure his crossover will work there, it will be tight though. His advantage is electric water pump, and his radiator will be sunk into core support as I did with mine.

Yes, I don't see how it can be done with the cooler and the rad both in the core with the v8. With the Ty, I could see the rad in the core support and a lower mounted cooler.

Superior Radiator in MI offers a nice V8 conversion radiator that sits completely inside the core support.

So I went back today and changed things around a bit. I must have tacked and cut this damn thing siz or seven times today before I was finally happy with the results. Here is the work for the day. DISCLAIMER: I can't weld to save my life!

I have measured, checked, and re-measured many times throughout the build. Hopefully it should drop right in with very little manipulation.

At this point, I spoke with TwinturboV8Ty and realized (thanks Jeff) that the way I had it to this point it would never fit in the truck (hit the frame/shock tower). After looking at it for a little bit, I cut the last bend and re-tacked it. Here is the results:

I have some loose ends to finish tomorrow. If all goes well, it will be on the dyno Friday late or Saturday.

WOW how the Heck that going to fit Alex? inner fenders coming out as well? That turbo is Massive.

looks good, I'm nervous about making my headers, I don't think I have the vision to make them without it all being in the truck like that.

The shock tower for sure would have been an issue with the first, but now what are you going to do about the hood?

I know your already this far but just an idea, if you mounted the turbo right above where the water pump sits from a Y where your v-band clamp is on your cross section and point the compressor side torwards the driver fender and out with the DP to the passenger side with a ton of room. Point the intake elbow forward and straight shot into the engine with very little exhuast pipe and intake pipe. Then maybe you could tuck it all under a very tall 4-6" cowl hood.

That badass v-band exhaust housing would realy allow you to do it that way so you are able to rotate the turbo to line up to the intake. You would also eliminate about what looks to be 2'-2.5' of exhaust pipe in that giant U bend from the passenger side header. leaving room for the downpipe to snake down and go up under the passenger header

yeah..I didnt want a cowl hood, but I knew that eventually I would need one. I guess now is as good a time as any to do this.
