Re: Changes for 2012

I started header fab/mod today. Took most of the morning to gather the needed parts. I have the top part tacked up. I will be at it again Monday morning to figure out where the hell the new wastegate will go, and how the hell I am mounting the turbo.

New Bullseye Power 45mm billet wastegate - the top is machined to look like a functional billet compressor wheel

New Bullseye stainless steel V-band housing. Very trick piece!

Re: Changes for 2012

waiting until someone cuts their hands up on the top of that wastegate..... and i though zipties and hose clamps in the engine bay cut up the hand decent. lol

but damn it does look cool!

what size pipe is the crossover? 2.5" or 2.25" ?

Re: Changes for 2012

This turbo is fully loaded. It is their new double BatMo 75mm, 360-degree journal bearing, polished race cover (plain one is on there for mockup), stainless steel v-band housing, and a custom turbine wheel. All in all, you're looking at $2,400. Something equivalent to this is the Precision PT7685. That retails for $3299.

The new wastegate (about 1 year old now) retails for $395. The wastegate is 100% made in the USA by Bullseye.

Re: Changes for 2012

That wastegate is badass. Do you machine the top or do they come that way? I am planing on the 67 or 72 bulleyes batmo turbo but will need to fig out the downpipe ect. If not i might get the 72mm kit from rpm that comes with wastegate and downpipe ect just to save time lol.

Re: Changes for 2012

The wastegate doesnt normally come that way...I just know someone!

As for what you can do, if you have the PTE hotside, David can take that and machine it to fit his turbine wheel, select what you want on the cold side, and you're ready!

Youre gonna run an EGR right? Shit will shave seconds off.... hell, add 2 EGRs for good measure so the 2nd EGR can clean what the 1st EGR misses.

Dammit! I knew I was forgetting something! I was going to try running two in parallel and see if that works.

PTE must be coming off they prices. I recently picked up a PTE 76HPS dual BB with the billet compressor (same as the PT 7685P), the new HPs turbine wheel 84 trim vs 85 trim on the PT 7685) and the anti surge ported H cover for $2,330. ;)

I assume your putting the radiator in the bed?

Re: Changes for 2012

That is coming togather nicely! Im also interested in how the turbo will be mounted along with how the downpipe will route, inside or outside the framerail? Plans on radiator placement? I know you had mentioned you wont be running a IC. sharing custom work is always appreciated! exercises the brain

Also do you mind sharing info on oil pan? Custom or off the shelf?

Re: Changes for 2012

I have been thinking about the way the exhaust is coming together, and I think I am going to make a change to it.

My plan is to stuff the radiator and e-fan as far into the core support as possible. For the engine dyno, the downpipe will just shoot straight out. Once I stuff this in the hole, I can see how to snake it.

The oil pan is an off-the-shelf V8 swap pan with the -AN drain fitting installed.

As stated previously, I am shooting for an easy 1000hp at low boost. I am also looking to do this with as little backpressure as possible. I will post a bunch of data as I go forward.

Re: Changes for 2012

The headers are a general SBC stainless steel up-and-forward design from Stainless Works. The oil pan is from Advanced Adaptors I think.

I have thought about something like that AJ, but it is still a street-driven truck (noise). I dont know...I might come up with something!
