Re: WWsy/ty.netD?

Ok project "Breakdown" is under way. The upper intake seems to have a large amount of oil in it. kinda like the inside is coated. When I too the TB off there was a broken vac line under it (not sure if I broke it taking the TB off). I think it's the line that goes to the canister??? Would that cause me trouble? And the truck has a newer CATCO catalytic converter and Flowmaster muffler. Could a high flow cat cause trouble? And my IC seems to not be as full as the first time I took it off.

Pics to follow.

ive got a phil long chip from turbotime.

Orly? I may want it.

What a pain in the ass dropping the tank is. I basically crawled up under there and once we got the tank unbolted it dropped enough to get the hoses off but I'm tired. Had a sending unit from a blazer or something that didn't have the hard line bolts on it so I had to pick a new one up.

And the fuel regualtor....I unbolted the two side screws and the fuel line under and I can't get it to move. What am I missing?

Re: WWsy/ty.netD?

Someone wanna explain how this Walbro pump goes together?

Black hose goes between pump and sending unit metal line.
Long flex tube???
Black rubber cap???
Cut the lines for new connection???

I read where the flex tube is supposed to replace the pulsator but how? If the pump has to connect to the sending unit where does the hose go?

Re: WWsy/ty.netD?

remove pulsator and replace with the short rubber hose with clamps, not sure what flex hose you talkin bout

That's what I got. Maybe the flex hose is for different applications?

Do I cut the wire on my sending unit and match up to the new harness there? If so what do I use as a connectors that's safe in the tank?

Re: WWsy/ty.netD?

i would get fuel safe rubber hose and use that instead of the flex hose, and use insulated butt connectors with heat shrink for the harness. ( be careful using flame to heat the connectors/ shrink gas fumes/ flame=kaboom)

I don't know why but there is a small piece of black hose in there too. I already hooked it between the pump and sending unit with hose clamp. I still have no idea what that flex hose is for.

Before I cut the wires on my $100+ sending unit someone else wanna concur?

I got a couple heat shrink connectors with some heat shrink to put over them.

Well I searched all day and can't find what I'm looking for. I guess I'll live and learn when I cut the wires and drop them into my fuel tank.

Re: WWsy/ty.netD?

New pump, afpr, and sending unit and it seems to be running better.

Now to get datamaster to reinstall as I used the 10 tries to get it working before my belkin adapter.
