Re: WWsy/ty.netD?

I just checked my IAC valve sensor something in the side of the intake and it was gummed up really bad. Lots of black gunk, oil, and smelled like fuel.

Alright. I'm gonna try and get some Datamaster shots to put up here later. Does it record on the program so I can go back and printscreen or do I need to do that as I go? And what (speeds) gives me a good idea of how my truck is running....idle, 30mph, 60mph, WOT....? Thanks for helping a n00b.

I need with my datamaster and searching through 40 pages has got me nowhere except by the USB adapter. :( Anyone have experience with it and the serial port please help.

So frustrating.

Its been a LONG time since I had to monkey with datamaster connection issues but there is a menu where you can change the sample rate (I think thats what its called) and find which speed your ECM and datamaster will talk to each other. IIRC mine connects at 198 or therebouts.

I dont have my laptop in front of me so I cant check it out but Im sure someone on here knows what Im talking about and will chime in.

Well I spent as much time on it as I'm going to (before I throw my laptop through the windshield). I order the Belkin usb adapter. If that doesn't work then I'm going postal.

You may have to manually change your com port once you select to record. Well atleast that is how mine is. Com1 is more than likely what it needs to be set to.

I believe thats what it was set to begin with and is now. But I have the Belkin usb adapter coming anytime now. Thanks.

Re: WWsy/ty.netD?

Well I called the cable manufactuer and they told me "Bob" would call me back about the setup. Hopefully I can get it working soon or the adapter shows up.

Anywho I had the truck out tonite and noticed when I use about 50% of the pedal it runs good but if I apply more or WOT it seems to not stall but the engine gets louder and the RPM's don't move. Almost like a clutch slipping but not. My best guess is a bad fuel pump not getting enough fuel to the cylinders. If only I had the Datamaster program working!!!!

Re: WWsy/ty.netD?

Well Bob was no help I really thanked him for the great customer service. I got a usb adapter from Radio Shack but no luck. I would like to say a big **** you to datamaster and all the cable companies who have raised my blood pressure a few points over the past couple days.

Are you sure the driver is installed correctly for the USB adapter? Did you check you "Device Manager" for any unknown hardware? Did you load the driver before you pluged in the USB adapter? Just ideas.

Oh yeah. I tried it all. This usb was a Radio Shack deal but I have the Belkin one ordered. I hope it works.

Re: WWsy/ty.netD?

I saw my wastegate seems to be unscrewed most of the way or all of the way out. Should I close it down while the truck is running bad? Or leave it open?

Orly? I believe it has a newer high flow something or other on it. Hmm...???

Well I got my fuel pressure reg and 3 bar map in today. Should I wait till I can get some base runs with the datamaster which looks to be a few more days? Or should I just change them out with the new Walbro pump and start there?

Re: WWsy/ty.netD?

i would put the afpr on and the walbro , you got a chip for tha 3 bar right? i would get it running right first before doing chips, 3 bars and the like, and ill bet 100% of the board would agree. but i would unhook your cat and drive it to see if thats what the prob is. just make sure to run your vac line from your turbo to the wg so you dont overboost. good luck
