Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Hey Frank, my Builder did mention the Block could distort with the Fill that's why I don't wana fill it after I get the Cylinders bored. Being that the 4 Bolt mains have been completed is it too late to Fill now? It was a last minute decision, and my Builder didn't mention any issues knowing the Main caps were done already when I called couple days ago.

Well that sucks.

Code what?
Filling afterwards will be fine, I've been told by several reputable builders here the same thing. I'm actually about to take a .040 block with straight 4 bolt mains to get filled halfway. He advised just rechecking the line bore. Otherwise he suggested to fill it. It strengthens the bottom end

Got these LiL Brodie -8 Heads and Lower Intake Ported by Air Flow Research from my Buddy and Mentor Rob Putman! We worked out a sweet deal and couldn't be happier. Can't wait to see these bad boys on the new motor :turbo:

Test fit the Drivers head and clears all the spark plugs. Will need to get the Pass side modded a bit for #2, #4 plugs.

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

I wonder if the angle plug heads would have fit those headers better? It looks like the front plug on the crossover plug will be a pain. Got any better pictures?

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Hey Aaron, #1 plug has plenty of clearance. I'll post pics of the Pass side tonight of the issues with #2,#4. Shouldn't be too big of a deal for Sound Performance to mod it.

The Angled plug -10 heads would have been worse on the Pass side.

#1 on mine has good clearance for the plug and boot, but no room for tools or hands. I have to use a box wrench to take #1 plug in&out. And the only way to reach it is from underneath. :2cents:

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

#2 plug, might need a slight "cup notch" or dent

#4 plug, will need the Primary tube to be repositioned for sure

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Just bash those headers until they fit!!!

Just kidding

It actually looks like angles would still work good on those headers. I wish I had a set to test. Are they the RPM ones? :)

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

No these are made by Keith Mease. The angle plug heads would actually angle the #4 plug at the primary tube.

I actually watched that video. I would dent. But don't wana make the tube any smaller. I'll get it modified soon.

Making nice progress. Would it be easier / more balanced to leave the lower on to hook up the chains to the hoist?

Got a sweet gift (Holley 3.5" Screen) from a friend which will be perfect to Monitor and Adjust the Tune if need be. Recieved the 80E D&R Propshaft. The Block Fill is Complete and Nitrated Crank. Next is figuring the Bore Size. Decided to Delete the Heater box all together and install a Plate to make the Firewall flush looking. Will be Installin the Catch can there. John made me a amazing 80E Adapter for the Tcase.

Will have more Pics soon of the Frame Clean up.
