you know, it does appear that this could possibly be made into an extended-style event...maybe a one-week or so event. People could use the time to come early and visit a bunch of sites (this is similar to what you have stated). There is a LOT to do around here....should be great for almost all that want to attend, as long as they come to have a good time.

I would bring a least two trucks...maybe a third? Also I am sure we could get Dave Henninger to stop over during track day for some tuning tips or we could have some vehicles for him to tune for a set price. Richard Byrd from Flow Tech would probably come if invited...one of the best head guys around. Miland dragway is great...GM does a lot of testing there. I know Henninger does a lot of their tuning at that track. Michigan Nat's could have a lot to offer... :2cents:

Ken (warmpancakes), Merk, Shawn (Beavis), and the rest of the Michigan crew are pretty good friends and all live with in 30 mins of eachother.

What needs to get done EXACTLY?

Dragstrip would probably be 20-30 min ride unless we book right by the strip.

- Book hotel
- Book dragstrip
- registration.


What else is involved? You guys could plan the events and handle the money end, but what leg work would the MIchigan crew have to do? If it is going to be in Michigan, we need to start planning now! I would like to let GM know, and some of the other magazines baised in Detroit know too.....

I agree that it could be here, and we could prob do it, but with a little help or at least a outline of what has to be done would be great. And also I don't think we want to exclude or step on toes of the real nats commity as their help and info is invalueable as pionted out, we'll prob need all the help we can get.

We had a good turnout at one of Scott's (Detroit Turbo) meets, we could do that again and hope for more out-of-staters to show up. :tup:

Biggest issue is gonna be cost.
What does the track cost?
What do the hotels cost?

I am no longer on the Nats commitee but those are the first questions that always come up when anyone suggests a move.

KCIR has not raised their rate the entire time we have been holding Nats there so that is a big selling factor.
The hotel being so private is the 2nd. We never have to worry about security or getting the cops called on us for misbehavior.

Like I said before, I would go to a regional meet in MI and most definitely will be at every Nats no matter where they end up.
I just don't have the time or resources to plan anymore.

Work is crazy for me this time of the year because of the schools re-opening and I am finnishing up my jobs. This year I was doing 3 schools. If I am able to go I will follow you. I will be towing my Sy. No way it would make that drive.

Thats fine the BIGGER party is in Michigan with $$$$ for racing, protootype trucks, possibly the LSR, PPG and early build trucks working on it) One of the red 92 has said hes 99% to bring it

I'd suggest an early summer date if possible. That way assuming nats stays in sept, somewhat seperates them a bit.

Heck, this might be the trip I get 10 miles on my ty, win free gas to nats, night at strip club, steak dinner and not sure what else people have bet on with me.
