My wife and I have never been to Michigan so it'd be another place we can cross off our list.... But Nats is Nats. After my first one this year, I'm hooked. We'll try to make it regardless of where Nats ends up.

~1/2 the distance for us easterners. Bad for Cali, PNW, SW; good for Naste. :(

I voted "yes" meaning "more likely."

It doesn't matter to me, KC or MI.

-The Nats planning committee has to be onboard for the move. There is a lot of work involved with moving the event.

-Some local people would have to step up and help out. This is a big commitment

-Every year many people make promises to come to the Nats, if such and such happens. It doesn't alway materialize. Moving so that all the fast truck show up isn't alway a great plan.

-It would be great to have ex PAS employees and maybe GM involved, but is it really going to happen? Is the right person with connection going ot be able to step up and commit the necessary time involved to make this happen.

Yep, it becomes very easy for people to sit back 11 months from the event and say yes. When it comes around something seems to always come up. Just the way it works.

I was at one of the guys houses last night alot of them live in my area, and several more are a phone call away. Alot of the ex-pas employees have a soft spot for these oprphan trucks.

What would it take to get one or more to come no matter where it is located?

I can understand that. Heck my job is closing the doors in a few months.

But even if you don't call it NATS, why not just have a gathering in Michigan anyways. I know if I heard some PAS guys would be there, maybe GM or ?? I would go.

Call it whatever "Saturday morning Breakfast with Warmpancakes!" has a nice tone.

I know John Koss, Mack King, and Stokes would probably come for sure. I am sure there would be at least three prototype trucks too.

I would be willing to help organize but would need some direction as to where to start. Lots of different MI tracks can be used too.

Ken (warmpancakes), Merk, Shawn (Beavis), and the rest of the Michigan crew are pretty good friends and all live with in 30 mins of eachother.

What needs to get done EXACTLY?

Dragstrip would probably be 20-30 min ride unless we book right by the strip.

- Book hotel
- Book dragstrip
- registration.

What else is involved? You guys could plan the events and handle the money end, but what leg work would the MIchigan crew have to do? If it is going to be in Michigan, we need to start planning now! I would like to let GM know, and some of the other magazines baised in Detroit know too.....

Yeah, we could just have the "Great Lakes Gathering" in MI and call it whatever you want.

Doesn't have to be executed to the scale of a National event, just call it a regional gathering and let the individual attendees decide if its that important to them to go.

I know I would go to a gathering if I knew ex-Pas employees were gonna be there.

Doesn't have to be an entire weekend exclusive track rental etc etc.
Just an afternoon of BSing with these type of guys would justify the 9+ hour drive for me.

PAS guys are always at our Michigan meets, Woodward Dream Cruise we had 3+ PAS employees there one year. One of the things you have to remember about MI, is that this is where the Syclone and Typhoon were created, and many of the proto types are still here, and the people who built them.

I would be willing to plan something big like NATs in Michigan, but don't want to step on anyones toes, if it wasn't deemed "NATS", like I said we usually have a great turn out when the weather is nice at our meets.

I have talked with friends from Hot Rod and Car craft (one of the editiors lives 15 minutes from the proprosed track"

I know the owner of the museum where the LSR truck is it could possible (huge maybe) that it could make an appearance,

we could schedule a "breakfast at IHOP with the pancakes" for around early summer and make it a 1-2 day history lesson meet and greet. I think we need to have a michigan meeting to get the ball rolling
