Re: George Blake - Prime Gears out of Business

Wow, I am REALLY sorry to hear this. He was one of the better vendors I've dealt with in a while...

Anyone have any word on the fate of the extra parts for the 5 pinion xfer case planet he made? One of the big draws for me was the ability to rebuild it in the event anything went wrong.

Everything has been turned over to Mike Lee, shafts, kits, planetaries everything. Do NOT use anyone else. The stuff will not be right if you do (trust me, I've tried).
After 15 years of being involved as a member and 4 years as a business, all I've got to show for it is people griping and IRS audits. You know what I did wrong? I spoiled people on here. Tons of free info, giveaways, everything. That made it so that guys felt they were entitled to the perks. Turned many into the whiners that demand everything for nothing. There are many of you that I'd trust with anything and others I wouldn't let in my driveway. My son is the most important thing in my life. You want to bitch, then bitch. Over the last 4 years I've donated over $10K to this community in one way or another. Yet I'm still hearing bitching. Get a life.
Problem is that when you log on, there is more bitching than good stuff(you know exactly who you are), it's just not worth dealing with when I put into perspective that I did this to try to help my son while at the same time helping this place out. I'll do him more good spending the time with him than dealing with the nonsense.
To the rest of you guys, I'll miss you. I had to step away because it bothers me so much. It becomes habit to just check on here every day, look for certain people, see questions and want to answer them. You don't know how many times I'd see a question and start to log in to answer it and thought, "nope, there'll be nothing but bitching, griping, and ass showing." No more.
Hopefully you guys will get to see more ingenuity as time goes on from some fresh people.

George, While I hate to see you go, I don't blame you, Your son should come 2nd after your Sweetheart, 1st before this site or these trucks. If later on you decide to do any side work let me know because you were and are 1st class all the way. I will miss you.

Hi George i have not had the chance to deal with you ,but from reading some threads i totaly understand. Our family run holiday park deals with the public and boy do some people want a slap. But on the other hand i only joined the syty family back in july, and since then some of the help i have got has blown me away. I had lost faith in people in general:( but dealing with people on this forum (sy2932,quickstop,Bezerk&Dave p) to name a few have made me realise that there are still great people out there that want to help, but i guess you just have to look a lot harder than you used to. So all in all i hope now that you are getting out of selling, you can get back to browsing the forum/giving great advice and having fun like the way its ment to be.

All the best Rob

AGAIN, everything has been turned over to Mike Lee at RPM
http://www.raceprovenmotors.com/
He goes by Ghettosled on the board here and has his own forum.
Fish? Wow.
Remember Mike Lee, Ghettosled, propshafts, kits, input shafts, planetaries, everything. Contact Mike.
Again, thank you everyone. And a special thanks to Dariel Bleechington. He called me up after getting his planetary and rebuild kit and "just wanted to be honest" and told me I accidently sent him a viscous clutch he didn't pay for.....guess what? EVERYONE that purchased a planetary ALONG with a rebuild kit for their transfer case got SOMETHING for free. Isn't it amazing that only ONE guy responded back? It was a Christmas thing I did for everyone just to be nice and say thanks. Just goes to show how things go. If you haven't opened your kit yet, dig through there, something extra is in there that you can use in the kit.
For all the rest that think I'm "lame", "ass", whatever, you can KMA since you obviously can't appreciate it when you have something good.
Oh, most important, MANY thanks to ALL of you that donated to the Cincinnati Center for Autism. I thought Amanda was going to cry after I gave her the 3rd check and told her more was coming. It was a bad time for her with the center and you guys REALLY helped out, not just with the play ground equipment and the computer, but the psycological impact it had as well. Imagine, a bunch of gear head guys giving money to help a bunch of little kids with a commonly misunderstood disorder. I just can't thank you enough.

well that sucks for those of us that don't like to deal with mike lee.

sorry to see you go, but family comes first. Before you leave with a nasty taste in your mouth from the few bad apples remember that as a community we did donate to your cause. Don't think for a second the community did not appreciate everything that you did for it either.

Hey George... Dariel is desperate to get ahold of you for some xfer case pieces you guys talked about. If you need his number, PM me. Poor guy has been calling me for weeks now asking if there was anyone who get through to you so he could purchase the parts.

Re: George Blake - Prime Gears out of Business

It was a pleasure having you here, most of us (myself included) greatly appreciate what you've contributed to this community. Because of your hard work, these trucks and their owners are benefiting from the latest and greatest technology. Kudos on putting family first, you are a true man of priorities in this dollar-driven world we live in today. Good luck out there and stay in touch, you're always welcome here.

Re: George Blake - Prime Gears out of Business

Wow!!! This is a damn shame. I was just about to make another order as the wife green lighted the last of the stuff to finish the 80 conversion. George, I understand completely where you are coming from as we have talked about some of that stuff before. I wish you and your family the very best and thank you very much for what you have done for me and the community.

Re: George Blake - Prime Gears out of Business

George,
Very sad to see you go. But also at the same time glad to hear you will have more time with your family. I am sure it is a relief for them and you. I know you wouldn't like a repeat round with the IRS either...thinking that was the last straw. I hope you will at sometime, after a well deserved break, visit us online and share your thoughts and wisdom once again. You have certainly contributed a lot to this community! When I went to your tech session at Homecoming I was blown away that you would take the time to show anyone who attended how to rebuild a 4L80e. I could not believe the attendance to something like that was not more than it was. Then to Donate transmissions...not one but two, as raffle prizes to help to promote the events we attend is even more incredible. People don't appreciate what they had till it is gone! You are certainly a class act sir!

Thank you for all the time and sacrifice you gave to help everyone here.
