Wow John, that's crazy that $h!t like that happened to you. I don't know how people can do business like that and get away with it.I've had people rip me off for a couple hundred dollars and have driven 7 hours to there house and done a few times more than that in damage. I don't condone that thinking that I did, but payback is a bitch and I felt is was deserved at that point.

I would like to hear who this person was selling junk parts with real paper work.. I mean why not it's always good to hear the good and bad about people that you could possible be sending money or parts to in the future.

Re: George Blake - Prime Gears out of Business

I have learned a long time ago there are always 2 sides to every story. I also learned that people that bitch in public the most are usually not giving the full story either.

I think my newest lesson is people that tend to dig themselves a big hole like to just disappear overnight and give false reasons.

If your going to screw someone over at least bring Vaseline so they get a good feeling from the adventure and don't leave a bad taste in their mouth.

I saw some things go down with GB before his final run and hide out the back door. In fact some at nats in KC 2007? may remember some kind words him and I had at breakfast. That was actually the last time I spoke to him.

John told me this story at nats this year and although I didn't know about it, it somehow didn't surprise me either. I have known Gerber for many years now as a friend, customer, and just fellow syty owner. If anybody is a straight shooter and honest its Gerber. I hate to see people screwed over and left without even an empty jar of vaseline.

Maybe next time someone posts a "hey, this vendor isn't doing something right!" thread instead of bashing the messenger a few people might listen and hopefully the vendor will come clean also.

If someone is resourceful I am sure they can find out who Gerber is talking about with parts also. He left the group "quickly" himself.

John told me this story at nats and I just can't believe how some people are. Many times you wan't to help a fellow board member but stories like this one suggest buying straight from the source. Thanks John for the tip on using rpm trans.

Sorry Our conversation got cut short there at the Nationals on Sunday morning John.. and now I know the rest of it. What a terrible thing to have happen.
I've only been bitten on a few small things thank goodness. Never from this board or people.
I built my Camaro off used parts from Turbobuick.com I don't have a very big budget so I'm glad
I was able to save tons of money with used parts that worked great.

We are a very small community here and hope we hear less of the bad and more of the good going into the future of these trucks!

Those were not the heads I sold you. These are the heads I had put on my awd Typhoon 1.5 years ago. I could not afford to sell them to anyone so I used them on my Ty. It would have been better for me had I never dealt with this buyer and had put the set that I sold you on my truck.

well you could donate the heads to me and we could figure out how to make it a tax deductable donation but it might have to include the rest of the engine and possibly the truck

John,

Sorry to hear about your bad luck with dead beat sellers. Remember what goes around comes around, and they will all catch it in the end.

On a different note, I have a full billet build GB trans here that I have yet to install. George told me the same thing, Don't have someones else open it up, send it back to me if there are any problems. He also told me that I had the best billet build that he had done and it has lots of trick custom parts??

Is there any way to tell if it has the billet input shaft by taking off the converter? Or does anyone local know the 80e good and want to take a look inside? It would be interesting to see what is on the inside.

See ya,

Same story that I got. There is no way to tell unless you take it apart.

I'm sorry this has happened to you, I know what a good guy you are, I know what it's like to be shafted and it's no fun esp when your talking about the $ amount involved.

I know who the seller is and I can say I was surprised to hear this as I did a few deals with him as well.

I just have a question.. And John(G) don't take this the wrong way, because you have helped me out in the past and still currently offer advice which I am very thankful of and words can probably not do justice, even when I've never bought anything from you. But this goes for anyone and anyone who's posted stuff on someone..

Why is it that whenever someone has a bad dealing with someone, they always wait a long time to post it. I can understand where you feel like you've been had, or used. But why wait so long to bring it out. Give that shit a week and post it up. Especially if you've already spent the money on something. This board, and the vendors/members are not like wal-mart to where you can return things, bitch to the manager and he will make it seem like you've been treated right again.

AND, isn't this the whole reason why we have feed back ratings??

Sorry if I sound like I'm bitching about other people bitching but I don't know what its been with the board over the past few months. Everyone wants to hang the laundry out to dry every other week about shit that happened over a year ago. (or more..) And John, sorry about that deal with the heads. That honestly sucks.

Re: George Blake - Prime Gears out of Business

and? What if they come back? What if someone else had dealings with them and got screwed w/out realizing it? There are more bb's out there. He could be screwing people at this very moment, but no one would know of his past dealings b/c "this person isn't here anymore".

Personally I think most people wait until they know there is no chance of the person making it right. I just went throught it with a seller on Ebay, I waited until the last day to file the refund claim with PayPal, I was hoping the guy was away or something and would get back to me. Not knowing if I was returning the stuff held up my project

So if I posted 3 years ago when I delivered a tranny core to george and told me to pay me for it later, yet never recieved it what do you think people would have said? At that time everybody was swinging by how great of things he was doing, it would have ended in a big mess and nobody would have gotten anything but pissed off.

Same thing happens with Gerber, he is smart enough to know a post here will stir up more crap than it is worth and chances are he won't get honest answers or refunds to begin with.

I actually would nominate Gerber as being one of the most dedicated honest syty owners here that has been screwed out of more than most even know about from trannies, engines, you name it.

Sometimes some of us just take things like this as a lesson learned and move on, chalk it up as education.
