Re: 9 sec Bowtie build
I've been gatherin parts for almost 5 years, it's not easy or cheap to pull off one of these builds as many of you know just in the short block there is $6200 worth of part (Bowtie block $2000, Crank $2000, Oliver rods $1000 and Diamond piston $1200). Yes I know it was my own decision to do a V6 bc there is doubt u can build a whole Lsx for what's just in the short block of a V6. But these truck were built V6 and I could never see putting anything else in a sy or ty.
Alot of my friends have asked me how I can deal with it sitting in the garage, well the answer is you have a picture in ur head of what you want it to be. If you chose not to take and short cuts and do everything how u see it in ur head then it will take a little while. My goal is to make a 9 sec pass and get this truck in a magazine.
Alot of people have asked about the wheels, they are CCW Classics it took me countless months of looking to find a set for the right price, I always loved Hoovers HRE wheels and knew I wanted something like it. I did the zr1 wheels for a little while but they are the norm now more then stock wheels. I was going to buy the super stockers from Sport machines but the price was just a little high for me. Granted the CCW Wheels are pricey I got them for $1200 bucks and just have to rub my fingerprints away sanding and polishing them to like new condition. I'm actually working on the last wheel restoring as we speak and hope to be done by the weekend. Here is a link to check on the wheels

So now here is my question to you guys. Should I chrome/ polish everything under the hood (manifold upper and lower, valve covers, tb, Wilson elbow) or should I get everything sent out to the powder coaters and do it all FLAT BLACK?
