Re: Who has the lightest truck and...

Of course these were stock ,as is my Sy...but you could still use the same concept Adam. The Alum. rod can be had at any good hardware store. 4' lengths....I think I bought this set of rods from ACE Hardware....a chain/franchise here in the Midwest and I think I saw some in Sacramento last time I looked.
A one pound mallet and a good vise platform,,,,,steady with the Kung-fu grip and pound evenly.;) They'll be stout and weigh next to nothing comparitively.
Cheers,Vinny

Ace hardware is everywhere on the west side, there is one in Boston(that i know of) and some in New Hampshire. they are everywhere

Wanna Make me a set for Syborg - pretty please

Adam deffinatly is on his way to a Uber light machine.

I built/fabbed up these aluminum rod cladding brackets by simply hand hammer forging them on an anvil then drilling/milling and tapping them. I was amazed how heavy the originals were when holding them !!!! takes about ten minutes each....so get to hammering!

Syclone#2960

What ever it takes!!
Re: Who has the lightest truck and...

So I finally got the syclone drivable yesterday and decided to weight it in.
It came in at 3,080 lbs. with about 10 gallons of fuel. Add 200lbs for me which brings it to about 3,280lbs of race weight.
I though it would be lighter.

Oh snap I still have the heavy optima battery in there and not my 15lb. Odyssey.

That still is great for a Sy. You should let me drive it, since I'm only 130 soak and wet. :rotf: I'll run a tenth quicker then you!
