value of L35 upgrade stuff?

I have read that L35 heads and rods are an upgrade from the LB4 stuff. How desirable are these upgrades?
Let's say I was going to build a 4.3 with L35 rods and some new bowlported, 2.02/1.60 valved, and z28 spring'd L35 heads, would it be worth it?
also, how much is the market price for the L35 rods and some worked L35 heads?

Re: value of L35 upgrade stuff?

Its semi desirable as baragin mods, but your not going to get rich off of them since lots of 4.3 came with them. The L35 rods were also used on the all 96-02 L31 as well. L35 Heads are woth ~100 stock/bare. L35 rod not quite sure, maybe 50-100.

Re: value of L35 upgrade stuff?

What do you think a set of rebuilt L35 heads that have been bowl ported, 2.02/1.6 valves installed, new guides, and some Z28 springs for up to .600" lift should go for?

I did a search, and this guy's L35 heads with the same stuff apparently sold for 600$. Is that just a once-ever high price purchase, or would a similar set go for the same $$ ?

Re: value of L35 upgrade stuff?

I just got done going through a set of L35's.
2.02/1.6 valves.. I did all the port work myself.
I had around 600.00 at the machiene shop with valves/guides/studs and setting up the right spring height/cutting for positive lock valve seals on all ect ect.
I've got over 20hrs in port work.
Don't know results of build yet as I've got to get it tuned in.
If it breaks the transmission I know the motors good ;)

Re: value of L35 upgrade stuff?

yeah, the reason I'm wondering is that I might have to can my 4.3 project and I already have a nice built up set of heads with 2.02/1.60's, cut down guide bosses for alot of lift, bowl ported, new guides, 3-angle valve job, etc, etc... and if I end up having to sell this project off, I was wondering what a good going price would be for them and what I can expect if I list them up for sale.
