Above Picture Update

Above Picture Update

Thanks again asslt_mike for posting the pictures!

1. Rear Baer Disc set (waiting on braket to finish with calipers)
2. Transmission cooler mounted underneath the bed
3. Side view of the trans cooler
4. Intake (Obviously thermostat housing will be cleaned and painted)
5. Passenger Side Exhaust manifold
6. Electronic Dump!
7. Rear of Vaders Sy, same old ATR 3 in exhaust
8. 18x10.5 Vette Wheel
9. Relocated the battery to the bed
10. Rear Baer Disc Brake kit spread out.
11. Intake with 90mm Throttle body
12. Exhaust Manifold on the ground.

We are slowly piecing everything together. Baer brakes are sending me a different mount that will help me get the caliper on the truck. Still trying to get Cometic to get me intake gaskets that fit. Otherwise I have been busy sanding and polishing the intake pipes. There was a few fitment issues with the charge pipes going to the intercooler and turbo. Just want to make sure there is no metal on metal with the pipes. Once those are in place I will have the exhaust wrapped to reduce temps in the engine bay.

I have some other odds and ins to get to complete the project (fuel lines, transmission lines, etc) but I finally got my wheels ordered. CCW C10 Front 245/40/18 and the rear 315/30/18. They are telling me two or 3 weeks.

I have a few other pictures that show the intercooler not in the grill so you can see the exhaust manifolds and where the pipes are going as well as a few others. That is as long as asslt_mike isn't tired of helping!

Re: Vaders Sy update

Keep 'em coming, Vader! I'll keep posting...I don't mind helping out a fellow SyTy'er.

Also, just so you can check it out, I edited the posting of the pics to put the descriptions with the pics to make it easier for those that wanna check the pics out to see what it is instead of scrolling back and forth between replies to identify things. I'll continue to do this after you post what they are after I post the pics.

Re: Vaders Sy update

wow i'm speechless one of the impressive lots I ever seen

Thank you. The amazing part to me is the amount of time it takes to refit everything back together. Nothing fits the way you want it to and the result is building a bracket or piece to make it fit right, look good, and still be able to be removed easily. Lots of little things had to be moved around in the engine bay, like the oil dipstick for example. It was a pain bending it so many times, but the result is it is functional and looks like it should be there! I have bunches of pictures for you guys.

BTW, the wheels are CCW C10's painted in competition gray. Front 245/40/18 Rear 315/30/18. The front wheels weigh 18lbs each, the rears are 19 lb each. The quality is outstanding and exceeded my expectations. The tires are Toyo T888's.

Stay tuned!

That sy looks amazing. I remember you talkin about a future build when I bought my sy from you (Toy Barn) back in 2010. Hopefully I get to see it in person someday. And definitely bring on some more pics!

Re: Vaders Sy update

Looks great. How wide are those tires?

He posted it twice.

The tire combo will be 245/40/18 and 315/30/18 which gives

I have the same tires, and the rears were around 12.5" wide if i recall. my 265/35 fronts are right at 11" so i would say the 245 is 10.25" - 10.5". The R888 run wide for the size, compared to most tires.

Thanks guys! The engine pictures are actually old by a few weeks, I will take some pictures today so you can see what it looks like completed. The Sy has been running for the past few days. All that we have left is to finish up the wiring for the transmission cooler that is mounted underneath the bed, wiring for the EZ-TCU for the 4l60, install the AMS-1000 boost controller, and rear brakes. Then the tuning part begins...

I rather it take longer and be done right and well then to regret rushing!

More pictures to follow! Anything in particular you guys want to see?

Thanks again aasltmike! For the guys who are local, if you want to see it, more than welcome to come by. Send me a message and I can give you the address! DubJG, hope your Sy is doing well!

Mike you have mail. Once the pictures are up I'll do some explaining. The pictures I took are for illustrating just how much fabrication and refitting went into this project. I have taken over 40 pictures, but realized some of them were to hard to see and others weren't as interesting. After all those pictures, I didn't take one of the engine bay so you can see it completely...d'oh

Hope you all enjoy

Lastest Picture update

These pictures hopefully will illustrate what was done to make everything fit and work properly. Some of the photos might not be that interesting!

1. AMS-1000 mounted upright in the glove box
2. Shows the cross over pipe wrapped and the painting done on the brackets (some cleaning required still)
3. Same as above, but missing the lower heat exchanger...lots of room here
4. Underneath the front of the motor missing the lower heat exchanger, you can see a little bit of the intercooler
5. Driver side exhaust manifold (blurry, but really tight to take pictures)
6. Fuel filter and fuel charcoal canister located underneath the bed.
7. New stronger front shaft and fuel/transmission lines
8. Rear Tire on Driver's side. Very close
9. Location for the CO2 bottle for the AMS-1000 (behind passenger seat where the jack and tools used to be)
10. Electric Fans saved a lot of room! Noticed we painted the mounts, thermostat housing, alternator, etc
11. Bracket was made around for the throttle for a mount
12. Vacuum block to help clean up the wires, partially visible is the wrap around the heater box
13. Heater box, vacuum block, wastegate

A few things remain to finish up. The EZ-TCU needs to be wired. We have to install a rocker panel cover with switches to control the radiator fans manually, the rear transmission fan, and the electronic cutout. Connections and wiring will need to be wrapped up on the AMS as well. Lastly, we need to put the brackets on the rear calipers. We will be doing a BOSS 302 Procharger install next week, so progress will be slow. I would think by next Friday it will be drivable! If anyone wants to see particular pictures, I'll do my best.
