Hey folks! Just updating the board on my recent undertaking. I've attached some photos for your viewing pleasure. You'll see my Baer brake kit finally installed as well as underneath the hood. Rear disc are the next project tomorrow. I originally had bought ZO6 wheels that were gray and riveted. Once the rotor and caliper were on, the wheel didn't have enough clearance. So, as of tonight, i'm back on the market for new wheels. My goal is to have it running by 3.15.13.

Changes:

Rebuilt 4.3
71mm BB turbo
4L60 Transmission (Coen racing)
Front mount intercoolers
Customer exhaust manifolds
Front and rear Baer Disc brakes
Wheels (read above)

I would post pics, if i new how too. Help!

Re: Vaders Sy update

Pictures will be up soon. Thanks again aasltmike for hosting!

This project started almost a year ago, once I had found out that my block was cracked. The motor has been out since April of last year. During the summer I had started gathering all the parts I needed. As with projects, it just gets bigger and bigger. There a lot of other things I have replaced, all performance oriented, different intake, double pumper, etc. The truck has been back from the fabricator for less than a week. Hopefully we make some good time on it this week.

Keep in mind, the engine pics you will see, I do plan on polishing!

Here are the pics. Glad to help out, Vader.

1. Precision turbo 71mm ball bearing vs. old turbo 50 series PTE (notice it still has the AC equipment!)

2. Corvette wheel with Baer Brakes (14 in rotor 6 piston caliper) Naturally, these wheels are for sale lol

3. C6 wheels, put them on to make sure they cleared the rotor and caliper. They do.

4. Baer Brake driver's side

5. 71 MM turbo, different upper and lower intakes. You can see the external wastegate barely behind the exhaust housing of the turbo.

6. Front mount intercoolers. Hood brace is still intact with the hood latch.

That looks amazing! Awesome that you're able to keep the AC. What converter do you have to Spool that bad boy? Have any pics of the exhaust manifolds?

I'll take few more photos of various things. Other than the exhaust manifolds, anything else in particular?

Update

Update

Thanks guys! The stall is 3200 or 3400. I have sent some more pictures to aaslt_mike. Those should include more photos of the rear disc/brake kit, transmission cooler, exhaust manifolds, intercooler, etc.

In regards to the wheels. I talked to a fellow at CCW and they told me they used to do a bunch of wheel/tire combo's for the Sy/Ty's. Given my brakes, it appears only the corsair line will fit my Sy. So, I have to decide which ones. The tire combo will be 245/40/18 and 315/30/18 which gives 25.5 tall tire and same or very similar revs per mile.

@ Sean The fabricator had the truck since the first week of December. Took him 2 months to get all the piping correct to fit the turbo and the ac system.

Once pictures are up, i'll update what you guys are seeing.
