I think it is funny I am sure if the other car groups read this they will all laugh becuase some nut job buys the 1 of 1 and takes it apart imagen doing this to a yenko or copo or even a rare GN. To me he looks like an idiot and hopefully if it sells on saterday it will bring enough money he wont be ale to justify.

Only way I can see turning a profit by parting out is if people pay double maybe triple what the parts are worth. People who pay those prices would generally have one of what is being parted out and NEED those pieces BAD. With a one of one vehicle, it makes NO sense what so ever to the price for it then destroy it. I mean if you want a piece of history you're not going to pay for it unless it somehow benefits you in a big way. I'd be surprised if he made 3/4" of what he pays. Who is going to really say, I'll pay you $8,000 for the motor since it came from the PPG? Gimmie a break.

Same people who would pay more for any vehicle just because it has special paint or switches in the center console or lights on the roof. The same theory would apply really, parts or whole.

Ever watch those shows where someone finds a 1930's race car in an old barn somewhere, its 9 times out of 10 just a rusted frame and body, but because its the body that was actually used in the race they pay $1.5 million for it? :roll: Then they spend the next 5 years trying to track down the drivetrain, pay WAY too much for that, then they still have to restore it.... believe me, there are people out there with money to burn on this crap.

Yep in 20 years there there will probably be someone trying to do that to this truck so keep it documented you guys may stand to make millions:rotf:

This whole thing with T-Bone is a little odd..... let's see, the title of the post is "tough times, tough decisions". Hmm, if times are so tough does it really make sense to fly to Scottsdale, pay for hotels, meals, titty bars, etc.?? If times are that tough I could think of a LOT of ways to invest with a large return..... hmmm, he has to get it trailered back to his place (more $$)..... I call BS on this entire post.... either he's lost his mind, he's truly is a dick (as mentioned by a previous poster), or he's yanking everyone's chain.

Don't forget the $500 just to register to place a bid. I believe him when he says he has every intention of buying it, why else would he fly out there. I just don't think he has the $$$ to pull it off.

My guess is they are trying to bring in some decent money with these 2 trucks by running them through on Saturday...Prime time days bring out the big boys and the best of the best in terms of cars at Barrett...

IMO guys, your just gettin jerked-off so sit back and enjoy it. :bored:
Trust me, everone likes to think they have the deepest pockets around, only to find out the guy across the stage has deeper...

I am with you. I think if he can get it for 20k to 30k he might be able to tread water on an complete part out providing the right part buyers are there and are willing to pay premium.

I still think he is just shaking the cage.

If that truck goes for 20-30K I'll be pissed, because I would buy it...But I see it going for 60K+

When I saw the title of this post and who made it I was hoping that it would be something along the lines of:

I lost my job. My investments went south. I'm losing my house, etc...

I think so to I dont think he will buy it for one and it will go high than a part out it may sell for cheap on ebay but not barret jackson.:tup:

They have it marked as 10AM auction time.

Not sure if thats when that lot starts because many of those vehicles are scheduled for "10:00 AM".

either way I am just going to DVR BJ all day sat bc I have to go help stretch plastic over a new greenhouse in 10* weather all morning... yay me.

Good luck to all those bidding or pooling money to bid on the PPG!
I think it is going to end up going for a lot more than people think.
