Re: Tough times, tough decisions.

serisously, why would you part the truck, i'm sure you could just flip it as a whole. cladding would have to be painted to match anyone elses truck.

it's worth more as a whole then parted. what a shame

Re: Tough times, tough decisions.

I'm registered to bid online, so if he bids it's against me. My wife actually stepped in on this and told me 30k NO MORE!!! So that's what I can bid. Maybe it will come to Canada

I think you are to tight to spend that kind of cash on this, that being said i am glad i live only 2hrs away from you....... and i know where you live....LOL.

Re: Tough times, tough decisions.

Why does it have a salvage title? And why would it not be able to be driven on the street?

just curious

Dibs on the vin plate.........if it has one?
should have the normal VIN since it was originally a production truck

it doesnt have a salvage title, it has a SCRAP title, meaning the car has been reported as not road worthy. GM does this with a majority of their altered/modified cars in their collection. Its not to say it couldnt be made legal again, but it will require some paperwork and some state inspections im sure.

Ahh yeah I know what you mean now. i am surprised it can even be sold with a scrap title unless knowingly being scrapped.

I would imagine that all the cars GM is selling have had there MSO's destroyed, which means they can never get anything except a scrap title.

I don't know if scrap can be insured. They will never be licensed.(in some states scrap can get a rebuilt title, but not if the MSO was never sent to the NICB.

FWIW both GMC's have regular production VINS.

Re: Tough times, tough decisions.

Thankyou for all the PM's of support. I was able to spend time on the plane making up my list of what things are worth. I know what my max bid will be in order to recover my cost. With the already salvage title parting it out only makes sense.

It already appears I have serious buyers for most of the major parts. Engine, transmission, wheels, etc. Those that sent me a PM with serious offers will be contacted once the truck is back home.

I finally got good heat in my garage so this should go fairly quickly.

To everybody else, Have a great day.

From what they said last night it can go either way but they said it was the buyers responsobility they did say if they had VIN they were eligable for titles but I dont know for sure

In browsing some of the cars they are selling, some actually do come with clean titles, but they're nothing you'd ever consider buying; crap like a 1-off Geo Metro, the first Pontiac Aztek, etc.

You are right though....many do come with salvage titles, just not all.

Hope if T-bone gets this truck it gets t-boned right after. Then he can part out a piece of shit. Personally, I don't think he will get it.
