tire size

I picked up two 17x8.5 rims to have a matched set front and rear.. my question is what size tires are people running on their 17's ?? they have 245/45s on them but they all need replacing, just wondering if I should go with that size or if there is some thing better..... plates are applied for and I wanna order up tires and get this turd on the road again so any help would be appreciated.... tia

245/45-17 is the same height as the stock 245/50-16 so it will not affect your speedometer.

excellent , exact information I was looking for..... speedo operation was my next question.... I guess im looking for the most sidewall with the same diameter as stock to keep the speedo accurate...... thanks for the help guys..

I highly doubt itll matter but just thought id check to make sure , ready to order up some tires and noticed I have 17 x 8.5 rims and 245-40-17s call for a 9-11" rim...... that wont make a matter will it ??

That has to be a typo. I just was looking at 17 x 9.5" rim and found out that the rim width for 245/45-17 is 7.5-9.0.

275/40/17 might require a 9-11" wheel, but not a 245

yeas im sorry typo on my part, I meant 275/40/17 not 245....... couple of the guys say they are running them but im not sure of their rim size....

My wheels are the c5 wagon wheels they are a 17x8.5 I do believe...
