Hooked up a battery charger. I was so tired after driving back from Nats that I guess I left the key in the "on" position. Battery completely drained.

How hard was it to change out the steering shaft?

Very easy......I did it so it can't be that bad. Stock one comes out with ease, collapses nice and the new one goes in real easy if you melt the plastic out of it so it collapses. File/grind for the top bolt and thats it. Took me about 10 min. if that to do the exchange. Makes a Huge difference. Now I just need to put in the Z-box and get and alignment.

Not today, but got my Ty aligned yesterday after installing poly bushings and new ball joints on the 2nd Gen a-arms. That new sway bar makes a HUGE difference, combined with the other new parts. Fun fun, now I need to make time for the ZQ8 box and new pitman arm.

Utilized the "Utility" portion of the S.U.V....and made my air shocks a little angry in the process.

1. Took my new subframe to the powdercoater...tight squeeze. Had to drive with the rear gate down.

2. Bought a new bigger, better air compressor for the house.

The Ty is a drag car with a helluva big trunk:tup:

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

carried tires and rims around for the STi.....then washed it....and then locked the keys in it.

now what?! it doesn't have a rear window popper in it, so i'm not sure how to break into it. Do slim jims work on these trucks?

Installed 7/8" wheel cylinders, and bled the brakes. What a difference between the stock and 7/8" cylinders. Way better stopping power. Would defineatly recommend this mod to anyone who wants better braking for the stock braking system.

Removed the roof rack today......didnt start the day with that being the goal but thats how it ended none the less. Started out by installing the overhead console and things kinda went crazy from there......damn snowball effect again. ;)

So removed roof rack, installed overhead console and started the process of finding a leak that is showing up on the rear back floor and speaker area.....doesnt seem to be the window seal but I will need to test further to pin point exact spot.

New starter is in as of today & working good.

So how long did it take you? Not too long I hope.....Ive got it down to a science now. Changed mine out three times and removed it more times then I can remember when I first got the truck. :D

Changed the oil and fixed my shifter cable mount on the trans pan so it shifts into park properly.

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Applied Eastwood tank sealer kit after re-welding the sump on the Sy tank.
Thanks Jeff Scott for the advice about more heat. It helped a lot.
After the sealer dries for a couple of days, I'll clean the exterior & paint it.

What application did you get the 7/8" cylinders from? More stopping power is great, unless the rears lock up easier. Do they?
