don't take it to personal, you are after all on a Sy/Ty Forum, not an Lightning board. i think L s are cool and would love to race one, but i'm not a Oval fan at all. i think all of us can appreciate a fast vehicle, its just that we are some what biased to a different beast,

I was really being a little sarcastic, but honestly what did you expect when you dig up an old post about a syty vs. lightning on the syty boards? You wouldn't just sit back and agree if I came onto the Lightning boards and started telling everyone that they are faster than your trucks. Believe me, I'd love to have a Lightning (It'd make a kick a@@ tow vehicle for my boat) and I know you can go fast with em, but you can also go fast with a rocket on a skateboard :lol: different people like different things, and you just happen to be in a place where everyone likes sytys....no hard feelings man.

I couldn't get rid of my Lightning, I have put my heart, sweat, and blood into building it... Besides all the performance mods, I have put my own touch into it as well

But like I said, It would look nice in the garage sitting next to a Ty of my own.

I think Lightnings are pretty cool. At the track I have only seen a couple of lightnings run high 12's most of them are in the mid 13's. Every lightning at the track I have talked has had some mods, the difference between the 13's sec and 12's is the 13's sec lightning are all on street tires the 12 sec ones have drag radials.

It is actually airbrush work on the parts... I drew the design and came up with the idea and went to a very talented local painter and talked with him and he came did the painting... No decals what so ever, the man is EXTREMELY talented... I am not much on chrome parts and wanted something that looked sharp but was different and that came into existance...

To update the orginal post, this kid has never tryed. And to be honest, I hardly ever see the truck anymore. I even think he moved. I have a friend with a 01 GT thats blown that wont race me either. And he's rumored to be in the mid 12's. He even doesnt want any :lol: I told him I wouldnt boost launch even. :D

There is a black L that is up Cecil dragway in MD alot.Rollbar out the back window, ET's with pro stars,cool looking truck runs mid 11's. I met my buddy there to do some test and tune back in March of 05.I just picked up SY#0276 with 26,000 miles on her I drove her up.He checked the Sy out, just as his lane started to move I was called out by name by the tower for a heads up race?The only thing is He did not check to see what I was racing.It was not my SY she is still stock.So I Gave him a bulb or two and ran him down in my 10 sec C5,It would be much sweeter in the SY but for now that will have to do.I am out here gathering info for #0276's build.

i have a lightning and a ty. the lightning is highly modified, and the ty will be. the truck sitting next to the ty makes the ty look small. i like having a big truck that hauls ass. plus you can tell its a decade newer. I am planning on getting my first 10 sec pass in the lightning at the start of next year.

I've actualled raced a moded lighting from a 20mph roll. The funny thing is he took off before me and i said what the hell. He was a truck lenght. At the end of the block i was by his passenger fender. I was going to tell the L owner that he had a nice truck and he just turned quickly to another street. I can always appreciate a fast truck.
Your L needs diffrent wheels in my opinion.

whose? you've got two of us on here. Silver looks to have his stock wheels powdercoated black, i've got some Boyd smoothie 2's. I have always liked any fast automobile. Especially a fast truck. I feel like lightnings and syty's should love eachother. They are part of the WTF was that club! i always have people ask why i made an f150 fast. it's not an f150 its a lightning. Now i keep getting wow thats a tricked out little blazer. first off it would be a jimmy and not a blazer. but it's not a jimmy! it's a typhoon!

I think the debate between the L and a syty (and even a srt-10) are a little different.

Most will say a L is just a f-150 with a sc'd engine and a few body mods. Which is damn near true. Cant say the same fwith a s-15 and a syty. There are alot of syty only parts.
