I think any drama that was ever started was not a result of John or Robert. I'm sure things will be different in nationals to come, but I think it would be easy for many of us to step back and learn from this one.

I hope that nobody found me to be rude or non-sociable. Maybe to Vinny when he asked me to smell his finger, but I had good reason.

Hahaha ! That was indeed MY BAD as they say....sorry bout' that. ;) Also my apologies for this blur shot. My cam was jacked,

I have gone before, and I had fun, but that was beforeall the internet warriors.

And attendence is up? From when? when 20 people showed up for Great Bend or Grand Bend whatever it was called? Last time I was at Nationals in KC there was 100 trucks or damn close, sure as heck not 40.

Not that it is a big deal, but do keep in mind that Great Bend was what, 11 days after 9/11...
Kinda changed a lot of peoples plans and had quite the effect on attendance....
Either way, Great Bend was a blast....
except that damn pig staring you in the face while you were trying to eat....

Maybe these will help ;)

Robert's:

and it looks like I don't have any pictures of John's truck... only vid footage. I swear I took some.

Oh well, for 2007 Nats I plan on having a Vid Cam that takes stills as well as vids... Best of both worlds.

Great pics! I never even THOUGHT about borrowing the rent's video/camera. Oh well. Next year.

I think it's extremely unfortunate that all the accusations, etc. had to transpire as they did.
Things would have been more fun without the tension.

That being said, Robert wouldn't have made more than probably 2 9-second passes at that track regardless of what had transpired beforehand. The first pass would have let them know he could do it, and the second would have gotten him a request to not run that fast again.

They were quite picky this year (ie, the whole laptop thing), and I don't think it had anything to do with being "tipped off". This was just the way they were running their track.

Hopefully, the false perceptions and animosity can go away in the future- I don't think they have any basis in reality. We don't really need any more politics in the world.
