Re: Still Trying.. (One Last Shot pt2)

Quick update... I'm taking my motor out of the truck this week and swapping it into another TY. When swapping everything else fails, swap trucks!

Are you going to do anything to the motor when you have it out? That issue that you had was that resolved? Dont forget me about the rear springs. Good Luck.

I'm still debating if I'm going to go over the motor. I highly doubt the motor is the cause of the issue. I leak down down tested it, compression tested, and pressure tested everything. Everything checked out ok...

Waller did the heads and lower intake for me so he may have sealed the head side of the lower intake. Its been a while and I don't remember looking. I haven't had the lower intake off since I put the motor together.

NGK TR7IX's (tried gap at .022, .025, .035) and I tried a set of TR55's (gapped at .028). I also tried a set of autolite 103's a while back but I don't remember what gap...

With my set-up with vortec Heads I use a TR6 Plug (Advance Auto 4122 Stock Number) Neither of those two plugs have i ever used in my Typhoon Gapped @ .028

TR7IX -- Is a Heat range of 7 which is very cold plug
TR55-- is then a much hotter plug

These 2 plugs are day and night from each other. Hot & Cold -- All depends on what your tune was set-up to handle.

Standard boost 10-18lbs i would run standard plug TR6 (4177) Gapped .028/.030

Never used iridium and the few trucks i worked on which i changed to standard plugs seem to run better than with iridiums.

I tried all sorts of plugs with no results on fixing this issue. I used tr7ix as per Nolan gapped at .025. Truck ran perfect at 18psi. Doubting plugs are the issue.

I thought you were selling or parting the truck out? Good for you for hanging in there.

That was the plan but I got a deal on another rust free TY roller so I'm swapping parts (and hopefully not the problem)into a much cleaner truck. I refuse to be defeated.
