Re: Simple Syclone Rebuild

well then it must not be getting painted right if the back window shown in the pics will be left in as well.

i will be pulling my glass to for paint i was just wondering why the truck was in peices for paint and why the back glass was still installed its actually easier to pull out then the front one ;)

Nope, sorry....the back glass is out in that pic with dave in it :D

I think mandi has decided to put in a sliding rear window instead of the gold tinted one that is limo tinted.

More updates tonight and pics------sweating the day away in the shop!!

Shoot , these backwindows are not hard at all . You just need some thin rope and dishsoap .

It doesn't matter. They are always multiplying. They are like rabbits on the Harmon's property. :squint:

Re: Simple Syclone Rebuild

was the windshield cracked why did you pull it out

Dave does nice work. In today's refinishing enviorment, refinishing to the panel edge is considered proper. You could lift & peel back the reveal molding, but then when I come along and carefully lift the molding and see two colors, I laugh. This does not happen with Dave's work. Windshield removal is the most best way to have a proper job, especially when changing colors.

Like MRKING said, they are a easy to do, if you know how. Obviously your friend did not know how. Leak ='s improper installation.

You could not notice the back glass was out until Harmon pointed it out? Clean your screen. Look at the garage bay wall. It has no change in clarity if you look in front of the truck, thru the windshield or behind the truck. Easiest was to determine that there is no back glass in at the time of the photo.

Do you really think the Harmon's would hire a guy to come in from out of state to paint Mandi's truck if they thought his work was anything less than acceptable or as you put it "painted right"

Re: Simple Syclone Rebuild

Looks like it still needs a lot of disassembling. Can't wait to see the results.

It's alot of work to disassemble one of these trucks. More than most think, especially for a small truck. Look at the post time stamps. Seems Dave was there for 56 minutes and the windshield was already out. Couldn't tell you the exact time the pics were taken but ...

I am sure Dave will get to the remaining cladding, mirrors, door handles, lock cylinders, trim panels, glass run channels, cabin vents, sill plates, weather strips, strikers, hinges, light switches, latches and a bunch more before the truck sees any paint.

Re: Simple Syclone Rebuild

Thanks cheif I have repainted 3 of these trucks o ne of them being my own. I was just suprised Mandi didnt have it done before he came down to paint it. Id imagine they are on a tight tine table considering he flew in to do it. I hope they get it done, I think raz on a sy is going to look sweet.

Re: Simple Syclone Rebuild

I got the rest of the cladding off today and finished stripping it while dave worked his magic the bed and cab. Fixed a couple pieces of cladding....mandi picked up 2 nice mint rust free doors today. Rummaged through all my junk and gathered up all the rest of the parts for her truck.

Things are looooooookin goood
