Re: Progress of Bowtie motor

I heard the same can anyone confirm this?

Page 269 of the 2009 NHRAS rule book.

"Steel bodied pickup trucks (7.50 seconds or slower), roll cages are premited with no back braces if the roll cage satisifies SFI 25.1E, 25.2, 25.4, or the roll cage consists of a 4 point (door car) cage with a complete SFI 2.4B, 2.5B, 2.6, 2.7A dragster, SFI10.2, 10.3 altered, or SFI 10.4 street roadster roll cage/driver's compartment incorporated into and attached to the 4 point roll cage. An upper windshield bar is mandatory."

The additional spec required are specs for full caged pro-stock, alters, dragsters, etc. I real terms unless you have your interior bars designed and SFI spec'ed as if you were running a pro car then you will need back bars.

It would be much cheaper to just put in the back bars.

All but the latest pics are up. I guess he does back and takes them down for whatever reason I noticed it a while ago. Sucks but that's usually why I save pics when I can.

Sorry Guys dont know why the pics are gone? I guess when I deleted them from my User CP when I deleted them it deleted them of the post altogether?.

Well made it out to the track today,it was 94* and very hot. I rented the track to myself so I didn't have to be rushed. Had some problems, but I guess when you haven't had the truck out in over a year and everything is completely new what can you expect.

I had a issue with my Map sensor reading -neg all day ,so that was screwing with alot of my stuff, so I ran just a couple times just to get some logs. The first pass was of the FB, and no boost because of the Map sensor. 2.25, 60ft 830 105mph. Second pass still Map sensor screwed, got ot to make 3lbs which is the base spring pressure on my waste gate just after letting of the TB lost all of the boost press due to a prob with my map sensor. 1.8, 60ft 7.50, 108mph.

After this I came to find out that my XFI that is completely new system to me, the 1.3 version that I loaded into it needs to have all the tables reversed, so that was the reason behind my Sensor reading the way it did. All the runs where made on the wastegate spring which was 3lbs. My TB button took a shit , and that is what used to acctivate my boost setting on my AMS, so then it ran a default and just ran the 3lbs that was on the gate.

Other than that I enjoyed getting the truck back out after a year and a half, and can't wait till I get everyting worked out and running the truck with 30lbs boost. I think it should run well.

I also cant get used to turning the motor passed 6000, I am still use to reving my old motor to 6000, and this one wants RPM, I think on the last pass I took it to 7100, and it was still pulling. :D

Re: Progress of Bowtie motor

Robert track cost me $300, for half a day. I know it will take some time to get it going well. I've waited this long so patience is not going to be aproblem.

The wheels are 15x10 rear, and 15x8 front

You probably just caused a swedish sy owner to have to purchase a new keyboard for his computer. I suspect the drool was rolling down his face with the thoughts of renting a track for half a day for $300 and having it all to himself.
