Moving forward - pics added

Re: Moving forward - pics added

Yeah i have the RPM frame pads and 62500 solid mounts on mine and evrything practically fell back into place when i put the engine back in, very nice fit.

Just hang in there Branden, it will be done soon and liike everybody says, that first boosted launch, or first time you show a ZO6 the proper end of a Ty it will all be worth it.

Jeremy probably does, or you could just see them in person at the party in a few hours.

Re: Moving forward - pics added

well today, i got some more parts so i could work on the truck. well i accidently ordered only 1 poly mount for the extra spacer in the pacakging, so i couldn't tackle my motor mount issue to the fullest today. but i did find out that i indeed have the correct motor mounts, and the RPM and JS frame pads are identical. well i light of that i decided to install my McCoy A2A in the trucks stock CCHE position. this core is huge. thanks Turbo Junk. steven(live1053rulz) and i mounted up SonomaGTlovers volvo fan kit, made sure it fit the stock mounting locations. anyways heres some more pics, you guys will enjoy them more than i do.

Re: Moving forward - pics added

well, everyones suggestion of using the spacer that comes with the poly mounts, did not work at all. the fram pads wouldn't even line up with the mounts moved that far out. i'm sending my headers back to mike, to see if he can find any problems, as i have pretty much exhausted all my options regarding the clearance issues with the headers. thing is my downpipe had no clearence issue with the stock manifolds. frustration gets larger and larger.

nope me and mike talked on the phone, his headers fit perfectly in the jig he has. i told him i had a zq8 steering box, and he replied with "there is your problem!, i've only built them with the stock box in mind"
so guess the zq8 box is too tall, haven't been able to check it out yet. but i'm going on vacation. we'll see what happens when i get back.

Re: Moving forward - pics added

we're making a special steering rod for Branden's truck so he can run the ZQ8 Box and keep the RPM headers.. We just never provisioned for them, thus the clearance problems.

i'm happy that i will still be able to use the rpm headers. guess i had to be the test mule for the clearance issue with the upgrade zq8 box.

Re: Moving forward - pics added

yeh it kinda sucks... unfortunately i never thought about potential mounting differences with the different style steering boxes. I know the manual boxes give a TON of clearance though.

Re: Moving forward - pics added

i assume that the pics you have on the website is the manual box. oh well. this is great news for me. so FYI, zq8 box creates more headaches than needed, the extra spacer on the solid mounts from the poly kit don't do anything, if you have a pte downpipe you need a spacer between the 2 turbo flanges.

Re: Moving forward - pics added

That's odd. I didn't know the two boxes were different in size at all. :dunno: Have a great vacation bud. Call me up when you get back if you could use some help wrenchin'.
