No, no noz I´ve asked Matt and according to him they is just turning the boost up a noch or 2 the fuel is 116 octane IF it stills the same as in the article from GM high tech performence..

you are correct. NO NOS! i will take some newer pictures of the truck and update our website with more engine bay, interior pics and under the bed cover. everyone will see WE AINT SPRAYIN!!! :) and yes C16 is our fuel, 116 octane

seems to me what we have here is trying to compare a low compression street truck that still has the ac in it running pump gas to a higher compression race car with less weight running race gas.

i kinda recall some discussion about how cool it was that the street truck could drive 300+ miles to the track.

well what you see happeining here is the compromises that come into play when you make a plan for the use of the vehicle and create the build around those compromises.

your left scratching your head wondering ..."how'd he do that"

another big difference is in the parts selection.

one truck has a torq monster cam and the other has a horsepower cam.

the torq monster has more of its horsepower on the bottom end and the race car has its power on the high end of the rpm curve.

I know that n20 isnt needed to run those low numbers.

Essentially its all going to be in the combination and how you set up the boost control, ecm, and tire / suspension system to bring in the power.

It would have been mutch fun to let these 2 trucks do a match race (for dinner :D) best of 3

Our missfortune is the prize of the $ parts we needs and our sorry a$$ short season on the tracks

In sweden its from early maj to late august and IF we go abroad (England) we CAN extend season to late mars and late october.. BUT its 3 times the money to take our cars abroad to race..

In the end ist al about the money...

No doubt Matt is in the "shot" to nail the 8 sec pas and that truck realy hauls A** but its a fine line to cross :D 9,00 or 8,99 but Matt best of luck in your effort

Robert is workin on his plans and parts so theres a small, but still a chance for him next year :D

Klock is now 3,30 in the afternoon so Im outa here going home and chatt with Robert and turning some bolts on my Nova and volvo :D

hey anders... we've all talked about jim and matts truck and build. how bout fillin us in on some stuff about roberts. i'd love to know about it. beautiful truck. i know he switched to a 4L80 a while back and i thought i heard he went to brodix heads instead of the ported vortecs like i had. i'd be interested in hearing about his if you guys don't mind telling.

you're right about having a short season in sweden. i've never been to sweden but i have been to finland and russia in the summer. finland is one of the most beautiful places i've ever seen. the season may be short, but you have great weather there with low heat and low humidity. i remember sitting at outdoor restaurants and cafes outside at midnight and it was still light. nice tempratures, low humidity, no bugs. it was just perfect for turbo cars. too bad it's so short.

Hey 100in6 Your info is correct bouth about the countrys and Roberts truck :D
Sweden is a nicer country though hahaha. The north parts of sweden is alot like Finland (Im from the north) and yes we also have those looong summer nights daylights more in the north less in the south south of sweden is a lithle like europe..end of this :D

yes R did change to a 4L80 trans and runs a precision converter I think its stalls 4k

One more right he also changed heads to brodix 8 ported and bowl job done.

the turbo is changed (from last year) to a GT45, and thats about it.. no more changes sins the last2 years..

But for now, to chase Matt´s incredible times its more on the changing road.. new headers, new fuel systems, changing tires.. then trye to make this go...

the gremlins are proly found.. bad viresystem. its changed to a new orginal and stripped from unnessesary viring

if he changed the heads to brodix what is he running for an intake? unless i'm wrong the stock intake won't fit anything an bigger than vortecs. did he make his own sheetmetal intake or did he buy one form a company? also, i remember someone saying he ran pump gas with alcohol injection. i may be wrong, but i seem to remember that you can buy pump gas in europe that's something like 98 or higher octane right at the station. it that right or what is the maximum octane for pump gas. i'm sure you can get race gas there cause i've bought it. not in sweden though. what does high octane pump gas cost at the gas stations there and how much is race gas

Robert still uses the orginal intake !!! its portmatched only this despite he has som REALY exotic intake´s on the shelf .. BUT he feels that first get the truck workin with the new turbo AND the new headers then its time to check on intake

Yes he runs bouth on pumpgas and in sweden we have 98 octane BUT its rated different than yours so with the same ratings its "only" as high as your highest pumpgas octan 93 I think??

No he have never run with alcohol, its a waterinjection system "aquamist" a fantastic devise but its a street driven truck so he has on early spring and late autum have some alco in it to avoid the water to freese...

i believe robert said he switched or was switching to the mickey thompsons, not the BFG's. There is a huge difference b/t the two.. Dont know why anyone would even use the bfg's these days unless they were paying you to use them.

damn! 16.30 for for racegas... gulp. maybe i should look into import/export of VP fuel for you. i would think with shipping by sea i could get if for you cheaper than that. i send stuff to europe all the time. i know there are regulations about shipping things by air, but i think i could ship it by sea with no problem. i ship ATF and oil and parts all the time... you can buy c-16 by 5 gallon cans or 30 or 50 gallon drums. if you ever bring that thing over here you should throw a drum of fuel in the bed packed in foam of course and take it back. in the drum it will last for a couple of years no problem

Thats a nice offer 100in6 but probably "My" gouvermet would tax you out so much that it could´nt bee done

You see they allready take about 10% toll on all parts then put an extra 28% tax on it and thats INCLUDES that first 10% and freight cost and then you have to pay another 25% tax on the freight cost once more... great system we got hey?? try to start an enterprice import company over here :D

No Ed :D theres no secrets.. it was headers with 1,5/8 primary tube to 2" tube that ended upp in a GT45 turbo. and that force feeden into an air to air intercooler and upp to the stock intake.. on the road there is a set of Aquamist water injection nozzle and a larger trottle body opens for the air stream and a FAST system mixes the fuel/air pressurised mix..

In 2004 Robert tried the ET street tires but was never satisfied with the settings and problems in heating them up..AND the werry loose feeling in the front end at high speed..

this year 2005 he run the MT dragradials they worked well i speed BUT did loste his 60´times, they could not hold the power to the ground so he had to start the truck in a werry lame 0 -2 psi boost to ever have traction..

2006 He will try pure slicks in the rear and ET streets in front we have to test the tire pressure to get a safe highspeed run..

AWD is not the easiest way of running fast :D
