Re: HEEELLLPPPP Front axle woes?

This truck is for sale as soon as I get it back together. Baby on the way!

Put it in storage for awhile... it'll cost you twice as much to buy a different one later. If it's paid for Keeeep it!!!!

I'll store it for you... If I can experiment with it :)
Like... making a intercooler re-locate kit and other Ideas I've got for these trucks. My wife's is too far modded to make such parts with.

Good luck with the new baby... (keep the truck)

I'd love to store it away but I made a promise to the wife to sell it and make a little money now for the baby. I'd always wanted one and couldn't pass up th opportunity. I doubt I'll own another one. Next on my list is the CTS-V, Z06, Viper, and maybe a 911. I get an itch for a new car every couple years.

Re: HEEELLLPPPP Front axle woes?

Good news bad news. So far so good with all the new parts. I can turn a left hand radius without the popping but I'm still getting a very small "pop" one time when I turn it hard.

Bad news....theres is now an audible "pop" coming from the right rear. Anyone have any knowledge to this problem?

When I jack up the rear and shake the wheel it moves 1/4 inch maybe and I can hear some play in there. Normal?

Torsion bar mounts. Pass side.

I can't get the cross member high enough to get the new mount in. Kinda stuck here. Took out the ride height bolt or whatever but it still has tension on it. The torsion bar rise up and butts against the hole in the frame and stop me from going any father. Now how to I get that porkchop thing out or get clearance for the new mount!

It's been fairly easy so far. I'm just stuck on how to get the new mounts under the cross member.

Were trying to figure out whats wrong with my friends Typhoon. It makes a similar noise and when it gets up to 30mph it sounds like theres a tin can on the prop shaft or somewhere up front just dangling. Would this be the C clip too.

Mine never made a noise going straight. It was only with a hard left.

Get underneath and start looking. Check those torsion bar mounts!

Re: HEEELLLPPPP Front axle woes?

Same with mine only on take off or turns. Could be he let it go so far that the splines are completely stripped out. Then it could make that sound???
If you read back in this post its pretty easy to check if the c clip is off/broken. Start there. If it still has the stock propshaft check the front cv joint in it. Try a short drive with the prop shaft out. Plenty of ways to narrow it down. Good luck, it can be a bear.

Re: HEEELLLPPPP Front axle woes?

If the cv joints are good and you can pry the shaft out of the diff. then it is the c clip. Turn the wheel sharp ( both ways, whichever pulls the hardest on the joint and then take a pry bar and see if you can pull the shaft out of the diff. If it pulls a little and kinda feels springy then the c clip is good. Same thing for the other side. Could be bad cv half shafts.

Re: HEEELLLPPPP Front axle woes?

My c-clip seemed fine but I replaced it anyways. There was always a little play in the axle for me.
