So I went to mess with the truck yesterday. Reset the ECM and IAC. Replaced the TPS and MAP from the wrecked Ty. Double checked on vaccum lines and everything seems happy.

Started it up again and it took a few seconds of sputtering until it sounded like it was running fine and then the the idle shot up to 2000 - 2500 again! arrgghhh... Checked the codes again and it said ode 33 - MAP sensor. but no longer says 22 and 35.

I also notice my boost gauge is pegged out top end. It is pegged with the truck on or off. WTF is that? Im SURE its not making that much boost with the truck parked on turned off. haha Any ideas?

So Im reading the service manual to figure out my next steps and everything says "check scan tool" or "use the scan tool" or "after you read the scan tool" Dammit!! What do I need to work on the truck? Do I need a scan tool or can I use my laptop?

I now understand the frustration you guys all have with these. lol

The worst part is... It ran GREAT Thurs night. Great idle, no noises, smooth power, etc etc It was GREAT! Then within an hour the idle was way up. So high Im afraid to put it in gear because it would be like doing a neutral drop.

Code scanner just pulls the codes you're listing, so you're all set there. Try swapping the MAP sensor back again, if it wasn't saying that was bad before ( pegging at idle is also a good indication it's toast  ). I had a bad MAP sensor on my pickup and it wouldn't run at all, after the first week when the idle hunted between 400 and 3000

Re: Finally Bought A Typhoon! WOOOT!

sounds like bad map or bad vacuum line, or wiring issue for the map sensor

Re: Finally Bought A Typhoon! WOOOT!

The truck ran great... tursday night about 11pm. When I started it about an hour later it was idling high. So it cant be wiring or anything. Has to be something like vaccum. Would a vaccum leak make the trouble code 33 MAP sensor?

Yep. The MAP reads manifold pressure,so a vac leak would give it fits.i.e make it idle high ect.

So would it be a noticeable leak? Or could it be so small you would have trouble hearing it or seeing a crack?

We have searched all over all the vac lines.

Re: Finally Bought A Typhoon! WOOOT!

Found a leak between the IC and intake... got that solved and I think there is a bit of one by the EGR as well. Would these present a mojoe issue? im sure they would huh?

Changed the plugs as well to NGKs. What a pain in the ass!

Re: Finally Bought A Typhoon! WOOOT!

Found the problem. Replaced the vac lines and little box that sits on the turbo. Two wires going in to it and two vac hoses. Changed that out and the truck runs like a champ!

I just detailed the interior... WHOOO its all near flawless except the leather onto of the shifter. I guess he drove with his hand on the shifter and wore the leather.
