Re: Finally Bought A Typhoon! WOOOT!
Code scanner just pulls the codes you're listing, so you're all set there. Try swapping the MAP sensor back again, if it wasn't saying that was bad before ( pegging at idle is also a good indication it's toast  ). I had a bad MAP sensor on my pickup and it wouldn't run at all, after the first week when the idle hunted between 400 and 3000
ShuggsRR said:So I went to mess with the truck yesterday. Reset the ECM and IAC. Replaced the TPS and MAP from the wrecked Ty. Double checked on vaccum lines and everything seems happy.
Started it up again and it took a few seconds of sputtering until it sounded like it was running fine and then the the idle shot up to 2000 - 2500 again! arrgghhh... Checked the codes again and it said ode 33 - MAP sensor. but no longer says 22 and 35.
I also notice my boost gauge is pegged out top end. It is pegged with the truck on or off. WTF is that? Im SURE its not making that much boost with the truck parked on turned off. haha Any ideas?
So Im reading the service manual to figure out my next steps and everything says "check scan tool" or "use the scan tool" or "after you read the scan tool" Dammit!! What do I need to work on the truck? Do I need a scan tool or can I use my laptop?
I now understand the frustration you guys all have with these. lol
The worst part is... It ran GREAT Thurs night. Great idle, no noises, smooth power, etc etc It was GREAT! Then within an hour the idle was way up. So high Im afraid to put it in gear because it would be like doing a neutral drop.
