Dave, does your survey apply solely to 1993 models? Both of my Ty's do not show the "Grey" marking and I am guessing it is because they are 1992's. Just curious.....
Oh well, I have that AS-2 aswell..
"AS-*" means "American Standard". 1= Laminated. (Like a windshield. Look on the RH side, below the tint bar, and you will see "AS1").
2=Tempered. Most automotive glass (not windshields) is tempered. It breaks into little balls.
3= I don't know. I saw it on my grey blazer window just today.
AS stands for American Standard. The number indicates the position in the vehicle where the glass may be used, based on its optical quality. AS1 is the clearest glass (at least 70% light transmission), is laminated, and can be used anywhere in a motor vehicle (typically just the windshield). AS2 is tempered with at least 70% light transmissions, and can be used anywhere except the windshield, and AS3 can be used in certain locations in certain vehicles (and can be laminated or tempered, and has less than 70% light transmission).
