Re: Bowling Green, Kentucky

Are we still thinking at all of making this a GM Turbo V6 meet too? Or even a Sport Truck Meet to get attendance up and help pay for the track.. I'd think it would be awesome to have some Lightnings, 454SS's, TBSS, Jeep SRT8s, and SRT-10s around.

No matter what is decided I plan on going!

I think that the weekend of may-12-16th is when the GSCA will be holding the buick nats.

http://www.gsnationals.com/ for more info.

so BG will be hopping if Richard Lassiter of the GS/GN club of america will allow the Sy/Ty's to join in. The buick nats have been slowly declining in #'s over the last few yrs

I think we need a poll with different dates. This way you can see when the majority of us will be able to make it there. Might as well have as many truck at nats as possible.

I think you need to reread post #122.

there is ZERO point to doing a poll right now.

it doesnt matter what people want right now.

once the POSSIBLE dates are presented by the Nats Committee, THEN we can make polls and see what works best for the majority.

So what date will it be then man?

Is there a poll now?

I prefer sunny days in the mid 70's with low humidity and no wind.

Can we schedule it for a day like that?

In the Spring or Fall?

That would be cool......

Re: Bowling Green, Kentucky

I just wanted to put in my 2 cents here. Most people don't understand until they try and book an event, that this is quite complicating and frustrating to setup. When we were working with Milan Dragway we ran into the same problems. Big money events get first dibs on all rentals, along with all the people who booked them a year in advance (they do it every year).

Having a poll with the best date will be tough. We had to basically let Milan know as soon as we were given the dates. Bottom line is people have to be patient, and basically commit to coming regardless of the date. This would make it much easier for the planning committee and the community!

Re: Bowling Green, Kentucky

our friendly neighborhood track liason is talking to the track right now to figure out open dates for us to pick from. My guess is that we will have the actual date of this event by the end of this week or next (and yes, with the help of the entire syty.net via a poll, we will decide the best date to appease as many as possible).

Once the date is fixated....then the onslaught of the full weekend of events will ensue.

It all sounds good to me....I am unavailable for most of September, and miscellaneous days throughout the year.

Just pick a date and get it done.
