Big Stuff 3 users....whatcha think?

Looking at my BS3 log...my mph zig zags all over the place rather than just be a smooth curve. Anyone else see this with BS3?

I'm new to BS3 so trying to figure out if this is normal, or if my vss is poop, or other.

That is your driving style...I followed you once. If BS3 could show lane changes that would be a zig-zag mess also! :rotf: J/K

I was actually on a long straight back road for this. 35mph / 100mph zone...your pick. :lol:

Mike if your MSD or what ever Ing. you have besides stock is close to the box you will get A ton of interfirence, friend kept shorting out wide band o2's & could not figger out why, well he had the FAST system mounted next to the MSD box. Get A MSD Noise filter ( link below) My guages used to be all over the place RPM, SpeedO boost. I put the noise filter on & fixed all of it. I would start with that. That is Prob. what it is. Let me know if it fixs it..

pretty sure that the BS3 brain is in the stock ecm location...and the ignition is the stock LS1 coil pack ignition mounted on the valve covers..so i don't think that anything is interfering.

hey frank...glad you chimed in! Did you have issues with your 4l80e shifting into OD? My driveability isn't stellar at 1/4 throttle...it loves to downshift. I got a program that i woulda thought would fix it, but it didn't.

Have some settings you'd want to send me? :lol:

I dont really drive my ty on the street that much so i only have a race shift program It shouldnt matter much on the engine differances we have since its shifts based on mph not rpm. One of the hardest parts of my tune was getting the 3rd gear lock up right. You can try it but suspect it wont work well untill you turn up the wick on that TTV8 to near my Hp level 650. Otherwise it will shift to soon. If i send you the file you will have to load it then copy all the transmission settings to paper ,Then transfer them buy hand over to the map you are using. This is the only thing i hate about BIG3 you cant port just trans or just fuel cals Independantly. If you want the cal. i will email it to you.
BYW nice score on the TY wish i seen it first!!!!!!!

Typically funky signals are either due to an MSD (noise) or a grounding problem. I read about problems on a ford running an AEM w LS1 coils. Turned out some of the factory coil or trigger gnds were missing.

I am using PCS to control the tranny, sorry can't help there.

Frank, about lock up in 3rd, when mines lock up, the rpm drops to 3800 and I can feel the power falls flat. I think it locked around 70 mph.
I am thinking of changing the lock up to later in 3rd, maybe close to 90 mph, am I on the right track?

sounds like a good idea you dont want that much load at 3800. My ty drops to 4200 and i added some fuel and pulled some timing there to soften the detonation potential. On the big stuff you can control how fast the converter locks up as well. For racing i have it at .02 sec. When it locks up i sware the front tires come of the ground!!!!!!!

What converter are you useing, what stall and how does the street driveabilty feel?

3500 stall billet I think its a precision. got it from George with the 4l80. 1000 bucks. Its very drivable i can cruz the highway with lock up at 1900 -2000 rpm. Its better than i though it be.
