I have a whole bunch of those too, along with my even fire stroker cranks

Hard to find item in good shape, but there are some out there. Mike Lee sometimes has a line on 'em.

GM just came out with another version of the Bowtie. It is similar to the discontinued model that had the two bolt mains. This new version has a four bolt cap setup. I priced it for $1,980. It is as strong as the standard bowtie but does not have the fully machined oil system. At our rpms the fully machined oil system is not really necessary. IMHO Last I checked with GM there was nineteen of them available.

Sounds like a nice block, make sure you try Jim Pace Pontiac as he just about beats anyone on large items like this as he buys in bulk.

the pricing you find on the internet is the old pricing. USed to be $1950 from Pace.. Now it is around $2650 for the good cast block. I have some older 2 bolt main cap bowtie blocks if that is what you are looking for. They are in good condition.

Uh oh John. Did a trip to the club put some ideas in your head?

That gave me a good start...And then just keep going from there. I was able to locate a steel crank so decided to take the plunge.

John, some of us would appreciate it if you would not show your engine compartment so frequently......once is enough to embarrass the majority of us, or at least me.

Damn, I wish mine looked so good.

like I said. Its an older bowtie block. 2 bolt caps. It is sleeved, and in good condition. Would bore it to whatever size you plan on running. I think it is a 4.00 bore right now. Needs to be cleaned.. thats about it. First $700 takes it.
