Re: Ultra rare Aspen Blue 92 Typhoon

I agree with Steve. I'm not telling everyone to sell off all of their toys and stop having any fun. I still have some toys ('60 Bel Air, '63 C10, etc.). I just think it's the best decision for the future of my family. 8 years off my mortgage is ALOT of money saved.

I had a fun 18 years with my SyTys. Countless drag races in the Sy (and the broken transmissions that go with it). The Ty was my 1st anniversary gift to Christina. She drove the Ty from AZ to TN with her Mom. We took them to several SyTy Nats (check my sig below). We brought both kids home from the hospital in the Ty (I wanted them to be able to say they came home in something cool). GM High Tech Performance magazine. Winning Stock class at Nats twice, 2nd once. Best cladding once. Not counting the most important part of ownership, all of the memories and friends made during that time. The trucks will still be around, it's just Bryan and Matt's turn to enjoy them for awhile.

I was rushing respond to your post while boarding an air plane. My post went in a different direction than I intended.

Aspen Typhoon are rare truck and very hard to find in the shape your is. It's a tough truck to replace which the reason for my sad face. I wasn't question your choices. You had more toys than I currently do and everyone has their different priorities.

Interesting little side note story to this truck...before I had purchased any truck, I was in communication with the owner hoping to buy it In fact, I was talking to him on the phone during a stopover at the airport in Phoenix. He said he had a likely buyer (and theoretically, I was next in line). That buyer...Joe Keller. (long before I knew him)

Fast forward a bit, turned out to be Joe (and Jimmy) who checked out my first Syclone which I bought after flying to TN.

You're welcome.

Thank you Jimmy, for starting this thread that finally got me to act on selling instead of just talking about it forever. Also, thanks for all of the times you helped with my trucks, the crazy encounter this the Overland Park Police, the calls to bust my balls or to just complain about the Titans being awful...again...., good times...

....and it's crazy that neither of us own a SyTy now.

Re: Ultra rare Aspen Blue 92 Typhoon

Sandy told me today that you had sold the Ty. I'm sure it was hard to see it go since it had been part of the family for so many years. But you know it was a smart move to pay down the money on your mortgage and save all that interest money you would have paid over 8 years.

You can always pick up a driver SyTy in a few years if you wish to.
