ty #2432 restoration

so hello guys its a long time ago where i buyed my ty,

i had many issues with that car and after no starting of the engine and many sleepless days of troubleshooting i brought the car in my garage!

there stand the car now for 2 years and now i will give him the heartbeat back!


so here some pics:

daily picture of every sy and ty owner XD

here sleeps the ty in the bak of my garage

here on jacks

putted the front up for better working on the engine

engine is out

now back on wheels

engine in the engine stand for working

some new parts for the ty

any idiot cutted some holes in the front mask for light luminosity range control

i welded it and in a fews days i will painted it with this here

will painting the complete interiour

hope i can cruise with him in may 2013

yesterday i was in my garage worked a little bit on my daily and my ty


putted out the glass sunroof!

so guys yesterday i spend some time my ty!

cutted out the windows

rear quarters are in good shape but the front is window is cracked!

but im happy to do this! i found many rust!

i have now 1 week free from work and spend this week much time to the ty and weld some rust holes and paint it inside with por 15!!!!!!

yeah but he wasnt in a bad shape but there and here little rusty points, so i think it was the best desission to cut out the windows! look there is many rust XD


but what else? i do a good job for one time and had the best results!

so its my hobby and after this truck i buy me an exotic japanese car for restoration!

i love working on cars! :rotf:

here today i fighted with some rust XD

and painted the rear window frame

por is a good stuff but i have only one problem on some spots it will not close

did you see the small points????

ive do it all what por instructions say and it makes me this ****ing thing

This image is what stops me from getting started on the motor...I am going to have to label and photo everything so I can remember how it goes back together. Also makes me want to yank the breaks, air conditioning, and put a simple LS1 or LSX to make it look cleaner.

i now but it was planed the engine out and new engine in! but i found many rust spots so my desicion is restoration!

How long did it take you to remove the front clip and core support? Any difficulties? I'm hoping to attack the front end of mine in a couple of weeks.

around 2 hours! but watch which shims are on the fenders! its easier when you mark it on which side!

but its easier to work when the front end is off!

so today i startet with this!

suprise suprise! :rant:

then i formed the metall

and it looks like this

and the end !

i think it looks not bad for first try!

so tomorrow i weld the outside in and paint it with por15

And welded in!!! But know needs some grinding!

on tuesday i maked the tailgate rust free and painted it

and yesterday i spend me a day of chilling but not without a ty mind

so i found this and buyed it as my own birthday present
