truck running like crap!!!

my syclone is running like crap and idles up and down and turns off, but as you give it a little gas at a stop, you can keep it running, ive been having this problem for weeks, just seem to get worse, but when you disconnect the map sensor, seems to idle perfect,i put 3, 2 bar map sensor on the truck still no luck, went to a friends shop, he put on the scanner and says map sensor to low, the weird thing is when you pull the vaccum line and run about 15 lbs of vaccum it idles perfect anything high runs like crap, when you connect the vaccum line to it, and the syclone runs like crap, ive change the cap,rotor,plugs,wires,02 sensor, coolant temp sensor and checked for vaccum leaks, and can't find s&*t! its starting to tick me off, if anybody can tell what direction to go would be appreciate!!!! :rant:

try a new ecm ,, $ 90 from autozone , sounds like some f##ked up circuitry . what kind of chip are you running ?

put a vacuum gauge on it and see what it is running at idle.... should be between 18 and 21 in hg at idle.... if not you've got a vacuum leak.... a pilot friend told me one time "always trust your instruments" ..... has helped me a lot of times in taking my brain out of the equation

thanks WyoSyclone will check that vaccum to see if its going to that ! quick question, check the voltage with the scanner, and on idle it .55 or .69 back and forth, when it is suppose to be 1.something, correct.

Get DataMaster and start here: http://www.powertuneplus.com/syclone/howto_stock13s.shtm

Without DataMaster or TunerPro scanning your truck on a laptop, your chances of finding your problem diminish greatly.

Dayton, but I work ALL over Houston metro...as a matter of fact, I've seen your truck outside Grand Prize bbq in Texas City.

I'm pretty much everywhere, depending on where my clients wants me.

You might want to make sure that all the contact pins at the ecm are making a good connection with the wire harness connnector plug. Wiggle the connectors around a bit to see if you notice any change in idle, especially the center connector which carries the MAP signal. I had a bad connection there on my truck which was causing my truck to stall out. Fixed the connection and she runs fine now. Do this before you change out the ECM.

jeffe when you were looking for the problem could you get a reading with a datamaster?

I wrote a guide on how to understand all of the readings: Tuner's Guide to DataMaster.

There are also some notes on what the values should be normally.

You could also post your Datamaster .UNI file for others to review if you need more help.

nothing new Trapper, will keep inform if that fixes that problem! gonna check the ecm wires and see if any loose or change all the vacuum lines, do i need to leave them check valves on!

I don't think the check vales are totally needed I just think that anything that uses vacuum though might react faster at start-up with them on there, like you havoc controls. But I'm leaning toward a bad injector or injectors but I think it might be just one. I have a laptop coming with the Datamaster in it to help me figure it out hopefully by Monday, I will get with you if I find anything.
