Hello. I'm trying to get started. I have a '749 ecm from a sunbird. I would like to re-calibrate it to run a 3.1L v-6, turbocharged. the mechanical aspects of the project are nearly complete. The ecm is not installed into the vehicle as of yet, pending warmer weather to work in. I was hoping to have the ecm to a point where I could start and idle the motor. in order to do that, I could use some help in the form of answers to the following questions...
How do I go about wiring the fuel injectors, since there are two more?
I've been through everything I could find so far, but this still eludes me.
secondly, how do I go about using an at29c512 eeprom in place of the 27c128? I have a pocket programmer 2, and I'm reasonably comfortable burning chips. but the 29c512 is a 32 pin device.
I think I'm getting a grasp on the tuning aspects, i.e. blm function, and how to make the changes, and why, and i'm sure it will all seem almost easy once I get my hands into it.
Where can I find the $58 .ecu file?
I have the memcal with a bcc of albk ( which is from an '88 i think) and i can read the .bin to edit. But will simply changing the number of cylinders from 4 to 6 be suffecient, to get the engine started? the displacement per cylinder is pretty close, but the 3.1L has been worked over a little, meaning p&p intake to exhaust, performance cam (that's all the specs I got on it), different pistons, estimated c/r between 8 and 9 to 1.
Thank you in advance for any help anyone can offer.
