Are you finally changing from linux to something reliable?

The machine had an uptime of well over 6 months before this hardware problem occured..

Id love to see a windows box last that long :D

my windows server only reboots when the power is out for more than 15 minutes. I've never had a prob with it.....of course, it doesn't get nearly as much activity as naste (web services blow in general)

i'm still a fan of win2k/iis over linux/apache though. iis is how i make my $ though, so i'm byast. :-?

my other server is a winxp pro box running nothing but the battlefield vietnam dedicated server software.. its been up for roughly two months, one reboot and one shutdown by me..

all it takes is security updates and shuttingdown all useless services and windows is actually pretty stable.

I just read about a possible flaw in the design of the motherboard that I am using..

basically they used shotty parts and all I should need to do is replace them..

so maybe, just maybe, i can solder on a few new capacitors and all will be well..

now when can I do this!??!

:D

Hi Smaug.
Thanks for providing us the great uploader and also it was good to hear that the server was fixed now.

Now I neeed to ask you that I have almost 20MB of a movie that I taped on our 1st Nothern SyTy-Japan meeting in last weekend and that I would like to upload there because I could not send this by mail, but I'm afraid is this ok to upload such a big file on your server...
