ls2 beehive valve springs

what do you guys think about using ls2 comp beehive springs in my vortec head build im only looking to make 550 or 600 hp and ive seen where people have made 800 hp with the same springs just wanted to still hear everybodys opinion

They would work great. They are good to about .580 lift and you can get them fairly cheap of ebay from Lingenfelter as takeoffs. They will require some machine work to the vortecs to fit though.

Cutting the valve spring pockets. Less than $100 of machine work. Comp 787-12 retainers fit these springs with very little massaging of the springs.

tooky used these in his vortec head swap with much success. Search for vortec head swap and you should be able to find the thread.:2cents:

:myclone:yeah i got mine for 30 bucks 16 of them so the part number you gave me for the retainers will they work with the what is it 2.02 1.60 valves? and which cam dod you think i wanted to get a custom cam but prolly just go with the comp

Valve head size doesn't matter to retainers, only valve stem size does.

Alot of people have had good luck with "generic" comp grinds.ie 412, 422. But for the performance gain versus $ a custom grind will be worth the money IMO.

Either order one from Cambell's automotive or Turbo Time. Both have excellent history with custom cams for our trucks.:tup:

yeah i knew the size of the stem so what size stem can i use and thanks for all the help

Disregard my comment about retainers. Shouldn't try and answer questions while watching the super bowl.:oops:

Stem size doesn't matter with retainers. 787 will work for you.

Stem size matters in lock choices. Your valves should be 11/32's Sorry about any confusing.:tup:
