This is my opinion only, but I feel one of the problems with the stock intercooler system isn't the cooler itself, or the heat exchanger down below. I don't feel there is enough capacity of fluid in the entire system. Less fluid means that it will heat up quicker.

I think an ice box or just a 1-2 gallon reservoir would make a huge difference.

That might but true but he does have an issue if the iat temps are rising that much and he can't see any coolant moving in the upper with the pump running. As for timing I have mine set at 0 degrees with the wire unplugged. When you set your timing take an extra minute to inspect your balancer to make sure it hasn't slipped.

With the velosyty chip THE ic pump is always on so you can delete that wire

Well plans go tonight checking fluid for the cooler.. Making sure its pumping.. Checking timing 'borrowed a timing light from work'. And make sure balancer hasn't spun.. Anything else you guys think I should check? If weather holds off Ill go do a few runs again tonight and see what its doin.. At least datamaster seems pretty close on my times for 1/4 so if I see improvement on there I must be doin something right lol

start removing dead weight, and do some suspension mods.

Every 100lbs of weight is good for 1/10th second ET. Remove things like the rear seat, front swaybar, spare tire, passenger seat, axleback exhaust. Even little things like the TC inspection cover.

You can do the front end limiters for $30. They will improve the 60ft by keeping the nose down.

He means if it ain't needed take it out its dead weight. As for suspension do you have limiters on the front? If you can keep the body from moving, as long as you hook, that's more power to the groung. Joy of awd you don't have to worry about making your weight transfer o the rear to hook.

Well crap I already lost all the torsion bar stuff lol, and ac, and spare tire.. And bunch other misc things. And no I don't have front limiters.. I didn't have to much of a problem spinning Sunday, the track was pretty sticky and my tires grabbed very well for not doin a burnout

If you do a search up here for front end limiters there is a topic. It will keep the body from rolling back that actually slows you down. If you add limiters you can feel a better/harder launch. One of the best seat of the pants mods you can do.

coolant was a little low on the intercooler so i filled it, traced the lines also and they seemed fine.. once i filled it i could see the fluid moving around in there, also checked timing and with the wire unplugged it was dead on 0.. im getting the interior back tog. quick and gonna go log another run

Hopefull the high temp was from the low coolant.

well sure enough high temp is still there.. i had to drive 10ish min and i was super easy on it whole way.. did a full run, got 100% throttle, and zero knock... boost is still blah!!!

the dtc error is because i checked timing, and didnt know i had to reset battery after checking this out..

Do you have an aux. cooler? I am wondering if a turbo blanket would fix it (heat uder the hood)

nope.. the cooler system is all factory besides the pump "that i know of" and the airscoop down low

One thing I did notice when you where wot the rpm would climb and fall a little then climb back up. Might want to make sure your tune up is good, wires coil etc. I would also check the rod for the waste gate to make sure it is set right. Don't know what coil you are using but I have seen several brands arc to the frame, store brands and ac delco both.

Plugs and cap and rotor are less then 5 months old.. I changed wires right before track this past weekends.. I have not checked the rod yet, I wanted to last night but it was still hot by time I went inside.. It will need to be tightened correct? And as coil for all I know is it's still same one from factory

Look at the coil if it has an ashy/smokey look around where the plastic body is close to the metal loop get a new one.

any you guys got some other suggestions on my runs? im gonna pick up a coil tomorow and see if theres any difference.. also going to pull the upper cooler lines off and see if there pumping or not

get the aftercooler pump and hose's replaced for maximum heat exchange . the stock pump sucks ass , and most upgraded pumps wont keep up with circulation needed to keep the aftercooler cool . i'm dicthin my johnson pump even though it flows just enough to keep my iat's down to decent level's . it's just not enough to recover and keep the the aftercooler cool . find the biggest / highest flowing pump possible. upgrade the lines- to heater hose . route them good w / no kinks . 50/50 water and water wetter mix in the aftercooler. will be good to go .

got any links to another pump?? and lines are already replaced to some blue style heater hose.
