as I understand it, if you have a frame the cage has to be connected to it or it is not legal. no frame and you connect it to the body. i would really appreciate it if anybody could ask Dr. hoover if he could post a few pictures of his roll cage. we're still waitin to get ours into the shop (grrrrr) and would appreciate a little advice on how he get away with no bars out the back window. all i keep hearing is the bars have to come out the back windows. but I think the rules really say that if you only run in the 10's a hoop cage is ok.

Awesome..... 9 second AWD passes is what I would like to see....
As far as bars , etc go..... depends on the track. But NHRA is 5 point attached to the frame for a frame on chassis construction vehicle for 11.99 and faster.... IHRA will let you get by down to 11.50 ish....
10's you need more equipment , 9's you need more equipment... but all depends on the officals.
I did my first 10 second pass in my t-shirt .Supposed to have a fire jacket at 11.99....

Does anyone know hoovers build? obviously he has a daytona intake setup, I remember hearing about a T76 Q - P? I see KB headers, I beleive I remember KB IC? what type of heads are those they look aluminum Pontiac - GM 23deg? FAST - DFI? Cam? 3 - 3.5 DP? anyone have a weight on the truck. Does he still have the overdrive tranny inthere? Stock stroke?

He is using a water to air IC... I remember talking to them about the tank. It is mounted about where mine it except vertical.. about like a GN is.
The other parts, I don't know.. I just remember his dad saying he would take 40 or 45 grand for it and that he had 30 in the motor setup.
I also remember he was using a Turbo 400 trans.
