Re: Help pick the hotel

marriot looks alot nicer.

I don't care either way, but i don't really like staying in dirty hotels.

Re: Help pick the hotel

Maybe some more info would dislodge the tie...

How close is a car wash place (I read about the towels + buckets, but sometimes you need more mojo)?
How close is a liquor store?
Food places nearby (other than Denny's)?
Proximity to track?

Marriot said they would setup a car wash on the end of hotel. So if your room is on the end (right side if looking at the front) would be a few feet away. They said they would furnish a bucket and fresh towels. This is a corvette town, they have a lot of car events here so they know a bit what is up.

Don't know about BW.

Didn't scope out liquor store, but most grocery stores sell also and there are a LOT of stores nearby both hotels.

You won't have a problem finding food with either.

The hotels are ~12 blocks apart from each other. Between them I saw a Longhorn, Toots, Steak and shake, Smokey Bones BBQ, and thats just from memory. You won't run out of places to eat even if you go out 10 times a day for the 3 days.

Marriot to track is 5.7 miles, 14 minutes. Involves all of 3 turns to get there, no freeway.

BW is probably 1/2 mile further, same directions basically.

Re: Help pick the hotel

I think that we are more likely to get away with more at the BW.

The lot looks better as does the game room.

Those are the 2 areas at the hotel we will be using the most.

I sleep shower and shit in my room is about it so I am more impartial to whats outside.
The location seems to be about equal on proximity to track and good eats.
Security and ability to congregate sounds better at the BW.
I don't like parking my borrowed trailer down the block.

I guess I am leaning towards saving the $10 a night.

I understand your points. I will say I wonder why BW has a armed gaurd.

I just felt BETTER at marriot in terms of security. When I say block down, its really within eye sight. Not trying to steer this either way just trying to post facts. I will have my motorhouse there for reg. booth/sleep quarters so I am ok with either.

Re: Help pick the hotel

There will for sure be "syty" parking seperate from trailer parking at any location. If for just the reasons you pointed out and for pictures.

On the flip side nobody wants to park trailers etc way away or in a unsafe area.

Re: Help pick the hotel

There appeared to be plenty of parking for trailers right there near the hotel, just not 10ft outside the hotel rooms.

There are 3 hotels right in that area, convention center across the street and a golf course. The overflow parking was built for the 3 hotels to use. Its within eye sight distance.

I specically mentioned trailers, etc. This is a town that lives on car events, they expect these things.

As organizers we have to manage and communicate rather well to keep it organized though no matter what hotel is choosen.

Re: Help pick the hotel

Would the Marriott supply a hose spigot too? I've got a little Karcher pressure washer that I could bring along, does soap too.

That'd make it kinda handy.

Maybe the GN guys have opinions on the hotels, since they invade town once a year?

EDIT: 9 or 18 hole course?

Re: Help pick the hotel

Search bowling green convention center, it is part of that which is across the street.
