It's not your trans, it's your motor/IC heat-soaking. There really isn't a practical way to combat this in a bracket environment. Ice, etc, will only make you less consistent.
The trick is to note how much you slow down from the first run to the last. On a given day, find your dial, and add that amount to your time. Back off your launch until you hit that time.
Then, as the truck heats, increase your launch to correct.
This is where it really helps to take good notes, and note all the ambient conditions.
Over time, you'll build a database of "the truck runs x at launch y, at temps/humidity z.
This is how the really competitive guys do it.
Having an air density meter helps a ton, as it combines all the weather factors into the number that you're concerned with.
