Reason I ask is last summer it seems that as I made runs my times would slow down and the only thing I could attribute it to was the trans getting hot.

It's not your trans, it's your motor/IC heat-soaking. There really isn't a practical way to combat this in a bracket environment. Ice, etc, will only make you less consistent.

The trick is to note how much you slow down from the first run to the last. On a given day, find your dial, and add that amount to your time. Back off your launch until you hit that time.
Then, as the truck heats, increase your launch to correct.

This is where it really helps to take good notes, and note all the ambient conditions.
Over time, you'll build a database of "the truck runs x at launch y, at temps/humidity z.
This is how the really competitive guys do it.

Having an air density meter helps a ton, as it combines all the weather factors into the number that you're concerned with.

Re: Finally, the 12's

Thanks for all the posts guys. I had thought of a 4 wheel line lock (would require 2, I assume/ One front, one rear) Not sure about the sound headphone thing. Anybody ever actually do that? AFA a 2 step I was looking at this:

Because if the fine adjustability. Anyone here actually running a 2 step? Because of the way it works (shutting off random cyls), I'm curious how it affects things like the o2 sensor.

Times coming down because of heat soak makes sense. Will be making some mods to address that: Big tranny cooler w/fan, High flow water pump, higher flow fan, possibly re-core the rad.
