There is a set of Vortecs in the for sale section for $100 plus shipping. You should also be able to find some local to you. You will need to modify the intake to get it to bolt up to the Vortecs. Stock Vortecs flow about 235 cfm, about a 100 cfm more that stock factory heads. Definately the way to go. Read Tooky's site as he outlines a good build up to Vortecs.

Check out the links in my signature. I cover everything in full detail. I have a budget and parts list for basically the cheapest possible vortec conversion. $1500. If someone claims they can do it much cheaper, ask to see the proof.

If you do heads & cam your truck will almost certainly require custom tuning to run right, and more custom tuning to run fast. That's a big deal to most people so read up first, to know what you're getting yourself into..

Yea, i dont have $1500 to spend so i dont think ill go that route

I don't know how serious you are about doing vortecs, but I just took a look at my own webpage and it occured to me that you're already going to be buying half of the stuff you need even if you don't do vortecs. It's up to you to figure out exactly what you need but I list this note on my Vortec budget parts spreadsheet:

Total cost for DIY assembled Vortecs with all head/manifold machining and valvetrain (incl. pushrods), ready to bolt on, but no head bolts/timing chain/gaskets: $787 + $157.74 shipping = $944.74.
